Real men do indeed make quiche. And what's more, a vegan quiche requires even more realness and manliness. This one has about 13 ingredients, most from the local farmer's market. Smells heavenly. Out of the oven in mere minutes.

Antipasto tray with prosciutto, hard salami, olives, sliced tomatoes, artichokes, mushrooms, fresh mozzarella, and parmigiano-reggiano. The veggies were all dressed with olive oil. Beautiful hot rolls and butter, Caesar salad, spinach and ricotta-stuffed ravioli in a tomato cream sauce. Four glasses of the house red. Yeah, we ate out at my favorite Italian place.

German chocolate cake
Colca Cola

When I was in the US last July for the first time ever, I had the possibility to get a piece of American chocolate cake. I think there is no cake in the world which even comes close. It is just wonderful. You can get American chocolate cake in Germany, too. But it's a very lame attempt to copy the original...

Hi Henry
I think the chocolate cake that my wife baked is just called 'German Chocolate Cake'. It seems to be a regular moist fluffy American chocolate cake only with coconut..pecan..caramel type icing that gets it discribed as GCC. It is my favorite!

Caramelized blackened pepper chicken with black bean & rice, lime, corriander, cumin, cilantro coleslaw and sailor jerry's daquaris. Nice combination of heat with cool.

"German" chocolate cake is truly delicious, but it's actually named after American chocolatier Sam German, who developed a kind of sweet chocolate back in the 1850s.

It was originally called "German's Chocolate Cake" before we Americans do what we do best and simplified the name!
