Fasting for me would be a form of torture. I enjoy eating too much to not do so. Hunger pangs come my way when I am late for or miss a meal. As I have gotten older, I have had to cut back on portion size as I can now gain weight rather easily. Keeping active also helps, but I do not believe I could ever resort to fasting. More power to you!
I too enjoy eating (and cooking) immensely, hence the girth I have attained. Fasting hasn't been so hard. Like depression and anxiety, I have found, distraction (which allows for time) is the key. (See, "time heals all wounds" IS true!) Intermittent fasting works with an eating window. Mine is 4-6 hours which essentially allows for lunch and dinner, and I try to eat healthy meals and absolutely no snacking. It hasn't been so hard really (except for the no bread part!) My previous long period of fasting way back when, some four days, was because I was smitten with a certain singer in grad school. Being in love has had that effect on me many times before. A modest Israeli girl, I realized before long that I was in love with her voice and not her. I actually ended up marrying her room mate. But that's another story.
So as to have not sidetracked this thread too much - the breakfasts I enjoyed as a kid and still do, are a tuna fish sandwich on toast and hamburg gravy on toast (aka SOS) with lots of salt and pepper. (any left over meat in gravy on toast is good for breakfast) As an adult, homemade corned beef hash with a couple of over-easy eggs has been ideal. I won't object too much to the canned stuff (roast beef hash is good too), but I will complain a lot about the excess grease.
