It was my second breakfast for the day. It was too early to call it lunch. And besides, I had a lunch. I cannot call lunch dinner as that will be had pretty soon. So, a second breakfast it is.

Or maybe it was a snack.

Texas turtle coffee with cream & Turbinado sugar for Hubby, Yorkshire tea with whole milk and Turbinado sugar for me.

And I have a big flattop electric griddle so I can make 8 pieces at once, so making enough for breakfast plus leftovers for Lily for this week took me as look as to took Hubby's coffee to brew. Yahoo!

I am practicing my baking entries for the State Fair (turn-in is Monday). Hubby and Lily are my ever-patient guinea pigs. This morning they got sweet cream scones and Marionberry clotted cream. The scones need work (have to try a different baking tray), but these were delicious. Light and flaky!

Having never entered this category, I am not familiar with the judging criteria. I know how I like *my* scones, but it may not be what they are looking for.

I had fried potato and egg tacos yesterday, since it was Sunday and I had the leisure of time to cook. This morning got here too early, so it's is black coffee and likely a biscuit from a drive-thru somewhere
