What's For Breakfast...

I had porridge with cream and honey and what the hell are sausage waffles??

It has been around here for over 60 years. I found it in an old cook book. You just add about two cups of sausage meat to your waffle batter and proceed as usual. I cut the sugar back quite a bit though as I don’t want sweet sausage waffles. :p Then again, my sons poured honey all over them anyway. lol lol

Uh no...dude. :hippie:

I have a waffle recipe, so I guess I'll need to add sausage.
With a maple cauliflower dip. ;)

:puke: Way to screw up my recipe there.
I got mine from my wife's 1936 The Alice Bradley Menu Cook Book.
Do it right:
Sift
1 cup flour with
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/3 teaspoon Salt and
1 teaspoon sugar Add
2/3 cup milk
2 egg yolks beaten light and
2 tablespoons melted shortening. (I use bacon grease:p)
Add
1/2 cup sausage meat separated in small pieces, or sprinkle on each waffle when it is poured into the waffle iron.
Fold in
2 egg whites beaten stiff. Heat waffle iron sprinkle with
1 teaspoon water and when iron stops steaming put in mixture. Cook until waffle stops steaming and is crisp an brown. Serve with
Hot spiced Apple Sauce

I double or triple this. *Notice no cauliflower boogers. *g
