That sounds absolutely delish Joie:essen:

Tonight's menu here was Paprika Chicken stew, with whole wheat soda bread and veggies, I'm told it was really tasty, but new recipes like this take me about twice as long to cook, so by the time I was done I was not interested in the food:( lol

Thanks so much Canada Doll!

It's too bad you didn't get to enjoy your creation though. :(
It sounds good!

That should be part of the prep... keep a couple of hambones handy and they'll mind their business for a couple hours.

I did get to try it today Joie, the reheated leftovers were quite nice:D

Well, every dog needs a chew toy!

Now, back to topic-

Today it was fish and chips for dinner. The funny thing here is that mother doesn't fry the chips - they're baked. Tastes alot better that way in my opinion.

Tonight's dinner is going to be grilled salmon and bacon-wrapped sea scallops.
I don't know if anyone is familiar with the Big Green Egg cooker but I just got one earlier this spring and am having a lot of fun cooking on it. Definitely recommended for grilling and smoking.

Tina and I have always shared most things, cooking being one of them. The lady, still recovering from heart surgery, likes to cook. But I like to spoil her, and tonight I shall do just that.

A popular meal we Brits enjoy is called Shepherd's Pie. It's not a pastry type of pie, the meat and vegetables are cooked together in a casserole then topped with creamy mashed potato and placed under the grill.

It's known as Shepherd's Pie because the meat used is lamb. It can just as easily be made with beef, then the dish will be known as Cottage Pie.

The weather is turning. There’s been frost on the rooftops in the morning.

Smoked ham hocks and pinto beans in the slow cooker. Onion, garlic, celery, carrots, chicken broth, water. We’ll be subsisting mostly on that for the next couple days.

The grocery store got me again. They know that I am a sucker. I'm lured in by the weekly ad. Then robbed at the register. I only bought what was on sale. Celery, avocado, chicken wings, ribs.

I grew up eating Chinatown ribs. The kind sold in delis with suckling pig and goose hanging in the window. This is my version.

The ribs were spare ribs. I had to butcher it myself to get St. Louis ribs.

Just simple, old school Turnip stew with fresh Kohlwurst and cooked on a stock of streaky smoked pork neck.
