I must beg to differ. I think that their is nothing more handsome than a man in a beautiful, well fitted tux. I have seen men who I thought weren't attractive at all don a tux and look like they just walked out of a photo shoot for a high end fashion mag (Classic Style, for example:)). They can turn the average man into a dynamo of class and looks. Single men, a tux might just be your best friend if you're in the market for a lady. We also love men in suits, just to let you know.
Above pictures are proof, oohh, those are some fine looking men.

well met, Mr. Jones!

i will say that a man who is not comfortable in his tuxedo, not confident, and thinks he himself looks silly, is likely to actually look silly. i imagine this is true of any clothing.

Absolutely. A tuxedo isn't just a suit of clothes, it's an *attitude.* And if you don't have that attitude, that confidence, that sense of savoir-faire, it doesn't matter how spiffy the tux is -- you're just a guy in a penguin suit. But if you *do* have that sense of how to carry off the look, well now....

All right fellas, you are hearing it from a great lady herself! Now get yourself outfitted correctly and set the world on fire.

I must say that i don't think much of tuxedos either. I really dislike the shinyness of the lapels (i also avoid sharkskins, mohairs etc because they have a tendency to be too shiny). I wear one when i have to, but i would never choose a tux over a suit when the dress is optional.

And, HJ, i'd say Connery looked TERRIBLE in the shawl collar tux. Notch and peak lapel worked much better for him. And i've never liked Bogart's Casablanca jacket . . .

Suits look great. No argument there. I'll take that route.

Try grosgrain, its matte finish is much more subdued than satin.

So when he changes back into his regular clothes Mr. Average won't be attractive to you anymore.[huh]

Exactly...when they come home after the Ball and they're sitting around in khakis, suspenders, athletic shirt / tanktop/ "wifebeater" / whatever you want to call it - drinking beer out of a bottle, eating potato chips and watching...hmmm...the WWF, what happens then? ;)

I know, I know - the "wifebeater" & suspenders string had it pretty much up in the air as to hot or not hot.
