Good idea Marc, this is a great way to revitalize some older threads.
I'm not sure if this is my "very first post", I thought it was but when I found it the date is 2 months after I joined. I must not have posted too much when I first became a member. But, this is the one that came to mind

The way I did is was to go to your profile - say, by clicking on your name in a post - and doing a "find all posts by this user", and seeing what the last (oldest) one was.

The quoted post should have the first line hotlinked, which contains the link to that specific post.

However, it looks like the search from that method is limited to 500, so if you are above 500 posts, that won't work. To find Caledonia's, I had to do a search > advanced search > search by username, and sorted ascending by date. It showed the thread, and I manually viewed it. Hers appears to be #6 - note that again, you can get the specifc post link by the hotlinks in those little numbers to the far right of a post, showing what number it is in a thread.

Hmm, although I see mine is vai showthread (loads the thread, and jumps to your post), whereas the second method is a showpost (just shows the single post in a window, out of context - but does have a link to the thread).

You're right, Daisy: there's buried treasure in this website. Scores of great, very instructive threads and posts have been buried under the avalanche of time. Luckily, MK has kept every one of them right here. It's just a matter of digging and recycling.
