ULTIMATE RESTORATIONS. This episode, they restored a 1927 Ahrens-Fox fire engine, for the Kansas City Fire Department. Ahrens-Fox are considered the Rolls Royce of fire engines! The certainly were the most beautiful. Incidentally, the piston pumps used by them are still as powerful as most modern pumps! Escape from Nazi Alcatraz on PBS's Nova. A crack team rebuilds a glider that POWs hoped to catapult off the top of Colditz Castle. It was fascinating.

I have not seen that one, but have seen documentaries on Coditz and, yes, absolutely fantastic. I get - fully, completely, personally and with great sadness - the ugliness, the human tragedy of war, but it does also bring out some incredible moments of human ingenuity.

What's amazing is that the prison library had two books on how to build airplanes and gliders. !!!

Finished watching all the free episodes of Eureka on Netflix; really liked the characters, how they interacted, and the way the scientists threw around impressive scientific expressions. It was fun to watch with subtitles on and try to figure out if what they were saying was in some way valid.

Just started watching Longmire
