Ice Road Truckers. A big rig finally broke through the ice! Yes, it was as anti climatic as you thought it would be. The left rear drive wheels broke through, the other driver backed up, hooked up a strap and pulled him out. No plunging to the bottom of the lake, no driver jumping to safety, just stuck. I always suspected that is what would happen with a rig that is around 70 feet long, it would have to be a mighty big hole to swallow one!

Shelby Stanga's new show.
I like the action, but not the music or commentary.
A bit over the top if you ask me...
I finally had an opportunity to watch the first two episodes, and I have to agree about the music and commentary. One or the other might be tolerable, but with both of them it's a bit much--the show takes place in the Louisiana bayou, we get it already! Sheesh! And the commentary...I can just picture the narrator sitting in the studio listening to the director say, "Do you remember Waylon Jennings' voice work on The Dukes of Hazzard? That's how we want you to read your lines." :suspicious: And Shelby's new pirate houseboat would be cooler if it didn't look like it was built for a Pirates of the Caribbean porn parody.

Ice Road Truckers...I still enjoy watching it, but this season it's really turned into the new "drinking game" show where you have to take a drink every time one of these things happen:

  • Alex Debagorski says a prayer or laughs
  • Hugh Rowland gets angry
  • Art Burke says something that gets bleeped
  • Darrell Ward gets stuck doing something he doesn't like
  • Lisa Kelly comments on something being a new challenge
  • A stuck truck gets pulled out of a ditch
  • Any truck has some form of malfunction
  • Any driver comments on the sound of the cracking ice as he/she is driving across a frozen lake

I might give this game a whirl.
Course I'd probably not remember the end of the show. ;)

Hey! I like the Dukes of Hazzard and Waylon made that show. :p I'll check out Shelby later. Any guy who is just as nuts as The Turtleman deserves watching. :p

It's a good show IMHO.
Waylon DID make the show, but sadly he isn't on this one. Instead it's a cheap imitation. It's not even Mike Rowe.

Da Vinci's Inquest...I don't know why I didn't watch this show when it first ran. A truly exceptional show...best writing and acting I've seen for quite some time.
