A rerun of Poirot in The Theft of the Royal Ruby. The sets and costumes were excellent and it takes place around Christmas. While it is not a Christmas special it does sort of put me in the Christmas spirit.

Enlightened on HBO - the best (or at least, most interesting) new cable series that nobody seems to be watching.

Last night's episode was a daring change of pace: rather than focusing on its she's-her-own-worst-enemy main character (Laura Dern) it was about her mother (played by Dern's real mother, Diane Ladd), who's only been a lightly-sketched supporting character in the previous episodes. A very moving treatment of an old woman going through the motions of her daily life while adrift in her sad memories, I was crying by the end.

Enlightened is a unique, really gutsy dramedy series that's impressed me a lot. Highly recommended if you have a taste for the unusual. (Nine of the initial ten episodes have already aired, but I'm sure they'll be easy enough to find/see in reruns or via the Internet.)

River Monsters Unhooked with Jeremy Wade. Absolutely amazing to see some of the fish that come out of rivers around the world.

Hubby is hooked on A&E's Storage Wars. Must admit, they find some fascinating things in those abandoned storage units.

Last night on TV well on cable TV I watched "Deranged- Ted Bundy"... and it left me speechless... because he went to Universities and all the girls he killed were so beautiful.... and he was so well dressed and so sophisticated they say he was attractive too .... he is dead now and that's a good thing.

He once called himself "...the most cold-hearted son of a bitch you'll ever meet." His story is blood chilling. The thing is he was accepted to law school, not on his grades, but on the strength of letters of recommendations of University of Washington psychology professors. How is that for nuts.
