I've become a devotee of the cancelled-before-it-should've-been series, Kingdom, which starred Stephen Fry. Wife and I are at the end of series two. Fun show, even if there's entirely too much "Steve Jobs (the Kim Jong-il of American technology) is God"-type product placement in it. Still, I like Stephen Fry and for an American to state that, is probably exceedingly rare.

Not really, I LOVE Stephen Fry.

Peter's Friends, Wilde, Cold Comfort Farm, Gosford Park, Bright Young Things, V For Vendetta, etc... He's awesomely talented as both a performer and writer. But I've never even heard of Kingdom!

Did you see his documentary series where he was roaming around the USA in a London cab? It ran on one of my PBS stations last year, and it was quite entertaining.

Glad to know ya, Doc! (Not counting our years here and at Atomic/Port Halcyon, of course).

Fry's also hilarious in a program I'm not particularly keen on, the Blackadder series; I have to be in an intensely wonderful mood to watch that rather over the top show.

Kingdom is definitely of the mellow side of things, with Fry's character the anchor to everyone else's kookiness. It gets a bit sentimental and "happily ever after" at times, but on the whole well worth your while, if you're in the mood for some light programming.

EDIT: Yes, I enjoyed Stephen Fry in America.

For all I adore dear Stephen, he is a dreadful shill for Apple. I'm not sure that he's a paid endorsee, to be fair - just a fanboi.
