Have been playing catch as temporary duty has seen me bouncing around the province.

Season finale of Fear the Walking Dead. The last two episodes of this season saw me wanting to jump through the screen to throttle the writers - no spoilers, but in no universe would this group act the way they did.

Season premier of The Walking Dead, pretty good start for what I hope will be an action packed season.

Second episodes for each of The Addams Family and The Munsters original series. The one daughter loves them, the other practically hates them, but hey, SIUBC!

The Mayans, episode four I think. Wife and I really enjoying it!

Looking forward - Season Five of Peaky Blinders and the new season of Outlander both launched on Netflix Canada, but with Hallowe'en approaching, and life, of course, we will take our time to savour and enjoy!

The Terror: Infamy. AMC. I'm calling it. This season has been stupid.

Lodge 49. AMC. How the heck did this show get Paul Giamatti? This season has a 100/88 rating at Rotten Tomatoes. I thought maybe I was the only one thinking this ridiculous series is somehow worth the time. This last episode was a little much considering it is already goofy.

Poldark. PBS. This mess isn't even digging deep into its own hat.

The second and final series of Timeslip. It was never gonig to set the televisual world alight, but it was an engaging little show, somewhere between Quantum Leap and Sliders. They had advance warning the second series would be it, so it is rounded off nicely and not rushed. Some great episodes; especiallyl iked the Robert Johnson one. Nice that they didn't always go for the most obvious time periods / historical events.

The Terror: Infamy. AMC. season finale #1. I repeat: this season has been stupid. I will say that the finale was better than the past several episodes though. It has that going for it.

Lodge 49. AMC. season finale #2. I'm sorry to have this one end. I looked forward to it every week. Is it wholesome? Is it deceptively dark? Are the writers playing games, or should it be taken at face value? Does it make much sense? Is it chaos? I sometimes feel stupid because I don't understand what is happening, but I generally really enjoy it and find myself relaxed by it all. I like that Liz has become almost as important as Dud. I hope it gets renewed.

Masterpiece Contemporary: Press. PBS. I thought I'd give this one a chance. Am I the only one irritated by talk about websites, software, etc and text conversations plopping on the screen or with people buried in their phones doing things or face-timing on computers? Does that date me? I just think they're lousy methods for expression and communication. I don't want to watch two characters have a conversation via their computers either. I understand that is how the world works today, but watching people on screen do these things and have these type of conversations is as engaging as being at the dinner table with everyone buried in their phones. No difference to me. It's B-O-R-I-N-G and lazy as heck.

Country Music documentary. PBS. How frustrating this has been. Coming too fast. So much research to do as it went. I was averaging around 45 minutes a viewing. Then PBS decides to yank it from On Demand not that long after it aired. Maybe three weeks? I didn't get to see the final two episodes. I get that PBS is probably more crunched for money than any other station, but do they need to play games like trying to charge $6.99/episode so quickly? I hope they re-air it in the next month or so like they did the Vietnam War doc. I've enjoyed it a lot, but I don't like this method of doing things.

The season 1 episode 1 program of The Danny Thomas Show, not called Make Room For Daddy in the show. Widow and widower marry to form blended family, except the character of Danny Williams is so famous that fans keep him from his new family which causes tv-land stress.
Several cameos as the Williams family "honeymoons" in Las Vegas, the most notable being Jack Benny. We catch Thomas' stage act.

Crime Story, about the middle of the second season. The story arc from season one concerning a task force focusing on bringing down organized crime as personified by Ray Luca has been replaced with a series of loosely connected episodes in Las Vegas, ostensibly to continue battling Luca. Not as good, IMO, as the first year.

However, one show was an homage to film noir, in which the 80s color palette was turned down to nearly black and white, with high contrast lighting, tough talk, a femme fatale, and ruthless gangsters. Coolest part was the riff on Kiss Me, Deadly,
with one character named Meeker, underworld thugs in the possession of radioactive something or other, and a middle of the night meeting at a deserted drive in, whose marquee announces - you guessed it - Kiss Me, Deadly.
Name of the episode tells it all- "Femme Fatale." Worth a watch if have nothing going on one evening.

Season finale of Terror: Infamy. A solid ending to an uneven production. Will not be buying this one, will certainly own season one.

Couple more episodes of Penny Dreadful, season one. No matter how grotesque Vanessa Ives gets when possessed, she's still Eva Green...

HBO's "Watchmen" Episodes 1 and 2 - I read the Graphic novel and bought the Blu-Ray of the film. I find the newest incarnation to be fascinating. As you'd expect we get multiple storylines from multiple perspectives... and a viewer going in cold is going to have a helluva time making any sense of what's going on. I suggest at a minimum seeing the film and watching some re-caps on Youtube before attempting to get into this series. I was stunned that they grounded this series with a depiction of the 1921 Tulsa Massacre. The only time American Air Power was used against American citizens. A little known (because most of America didn't want to know) event where anywhere from 300 to 4000 black Americans were massacred by there white neighbors... primarily out of jealousy of their prosperity. Of course all this foreshadows later more "modern" events. One thing I can say is this series is pulling NO punches.

Been watching a few things on Netflix (I think it's well over two years now since I last watched anything on linear broadcast). Unbreakable Kimmy Smith is excellent, I'm into season two now. Binged Season one yesterday... Of course, my favourites are Titus and Lillian.

Very much looking forward to seeing this (presumably on disk or streaming, as we don't have subscription TV but we do do both Netflix and Prime). Big fan of the source material as well as the film. Oddly, I've yet to see anything from Alan Moore disowning this - usually he snatches the money as fast as possible, before telling all and sundry how he's been intellectually violated and it's awful and don't see it. (I'm told by those who have met him that in person he's even more unpleasant!) I guess he's not made anything out of this one.

I hadn't heard of that event before and looked it up. Now I feel sick. I can't understand such hatred.

One of the stations here has been playing re-runs of Seinfeld. Maybe it was just that I was in my mid-20s when the show hit big here but it really makes me laugh.
It is a show that I watched when it was on and in syndication and always found to be quite funny. Well, actually, I didn’t really enjoy the first season but gave it a chance during season two and was happy that I did.

During the past month: the latest season of Peaky Blinders, some NFL, some UFC, Jack Ryan, and some Andy Griffith. There are probably a few other shows, but they escape my memory at the moment.

My wife and I have now seen three of six episodes of series five of Peaky Blinders. So far we are of the view this is possibly the best season since the first. Not that we found any to be "bad", just some better than others.

Also keeping pace with The Mayans, a great second season so far, and we really hope there is at least a third to come.
