I agree. The way it wrapped up though can I assume this is the end of the entire series?

I know many (not just here) complained about this last season (it did stray from the "solve the mystery" and/or "deal with Moriarty" story lines), but it provided some meaty background to a number of characters (though I do wish more of Watson's military service had been explored).

The true end, however, did suggest that the pair were returning to their "roots". I think (hope, wish, dream) this means a return to mystery solving....

"Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 4 - The Spoils of War" - To be absolutely honest I was kinda bored with the series this year, it was good but not worth waiting a year and a half to get! This episode was fantastic. Plenty of scheming, sexual tension, swordplay and a battle for the ages. It was pretty damn good! Dragons on the Battle field in Westeros? Kinda like an F-16 with napalm at Gettysburg, serious game changer. Gotta give the Lannisters and Tarlys credit though... with 50 to 80 thousand screaming savages riding straight at me and a dragon overhead... I'd a run so far and so fast I'd a took flight.

They've left it open to that, though given how both the leads' Hollywood careers have taken off, I can't see them making any more now.

E,

Considering how they have done both the show and films over the last (can you believe it) seven years, (and frankly, neither is exactly Cary Grant or Brad Pitt-esque), it is easily doable...

Certainly possible, but it seems really only likely to me if they both find the Hollywood work drying up a bit.... Guess we'll see. Of course, Moffat soon is going to be far too busy ruining Dracula to worry about going back to making Sherlock worse. ;)

I am getting such confusing messages from you, Edward. I think you should open up on your feelings about Mr. Moffatt... :D

Funny, my wife and I have marvelled at how consistently good this season has been, compared to the last one which we found truly hit and miss, often miss. We have really enjoyed each episode this season, and really wonder what Little Finger is up to!

Wife and I are finally catching up on Downton Abbey, season five. It has been nearly two years for us, since my deployment, last watching it.

Great to catch up on two episodes last night, particularly as we were locked out of our bedroom, owing to TWO large bats having gotten in through a tear in our screen door.

As I type this in that self same room, I have no idea where they ended up, or if indeed they are curled up sleeping somewhere. I will carefully start looking...

Well Puddin' is re-watching the ENTIRE series as we speak. Season 1 was great, 2 was the pits! Three was outstanding in many ways, 4, 5 and 6 I felt were pretty good. Mebbe I'm just P.O,'d at having to wait sooooo long for this season I expected to be wowed day and night.

Last week's episode is the first one this year where my wife and I said "it seems like they are taking a pause".

We are hoping that this is because they will unleash the hounds of hell and mayhem this week!
Although I am enjoying this season, it feels as if it is taking longer than last season to get anywhere. I am not a "Fast and Furious" person who must have non-stop action and who doesn't care about character development and pacing of a intelligent plot, but it feels as if much less has been accomplished so far. Maybe, rewatching this will help me see more and enjoy to a greater degree. Still, it is more entertaining than most of what is out there.

Started to watch a Netflix offering from Germany..."The Same Sky". A 6 episode series set in 1974 Berlin, a Stasi agent stalks and beds a woman working in high level surveillance for the West. They have really captured the look of the 1970's. It only gets two stars but I have never trusted the Netflix rating system.

When it comes to TV series, the oldest (and therefore "most vintage") one I know is The Avengers (Patrick Macnee, Diana Rigg). My favourite! What a pity there's no happy end to the series. How wonderful it had been if Steed and Peel had gotten married …

My parents prefer Downton Abbey and Call The Midwife, both of which are modern-day productions, but with vintage content.

I don't watch series a lot, but if I do, I mainly concentrate on the actors' attire in order to find some new styles. For this, of course, the above named are the series of choice.

Preacher. The story is getting more interesting again now. I'm starting to question if they earned how Tulip is feeling. I'm not sure I understand why she's having this quasi-existential crisis, or whatever it is she's battling. And I'm not real crazy about the scenes in Hell with Eugene, so I was glad they were exempt from this last episode.

The Strain. Is The Strain. I like it, but I also know I won't miss it.

Ray Donovan. I like how this season is playing. It's an interesting play with the characters dealing with grief. I'm not sure how much I'm going to like it five episodes from now, but so far, it's still welcomed. One of the complaints of some about Don Draper on Mad Men was that he was void of emotional maturity and depth, but Ray Donovan makes Don seem like an emotional basket case. Ray is emotionally void. He's a block of concrete. It's one-dimensional for obvious reasons. I hope Liev Schreiber isn't just playing himself like so many actors seem to be doing. That would be really disturbing.
