What was the last TV show you watched?

History Channel is on par with TLC. Both channels used to be about interesting content. HC is now about creating content rather than researching and reporting content. Create drama. Create situations. Create personalities. Lowest common denominator content. Did they have a big upper management shakeup in the past couple of years? Their entire focus has made a big turn. At least E!, TLC, and a few others are up front about their content. They're all fluff and trainwrecks, and they are mostly transparent about it.

When the show first started it was okay as they focused on older cars and the actually physical restorations - what needed to be done, how to do, what challenges came up. Now, though, the show has lost that small amount of substance as it is more about Danny's personality, fake drama and showing you the "wow" moment when the car is done (which, more and more frequently, are 1970s cars being customized versus older cars having original restorations).

Hence, why is this show even on the History channel as its small connect to history is fading.

And the thing that kills me is that 70s cars were bad enough but Danny always manages to pimp them out and make them look ridiculous and gaudy. Geez, even pimps back in the 70s weren’t THAT bad.
Another thing that kills me is how he describes the car with drawn out words like GORGGGEEEOOOUUUSSS. :doh:

That would make sense with all the play they get there.

I used to like the History Channel and occasionally a show will come on that I still like. But yeah, there’s a lot of speculative shows on that channel now. The Aliens and ghost stuff comes to mind. For history now I watch the American Heroes channel (used to be the Military Channel).
