The Town.
This film just released last Friday, and I am still in shock after viewing it. The film is masterfully filmed by Ben Affleck and each actor carries with them a character that is grounded and believable, no more so then Jeremy Renner's "Jem" I have met many actual people like his character, the quirky, funny, but split second violent man from a tough life in a tough town.

Affleck loves his hometown Boston, and proves it with this movie. The robberies are brutal, quick but just enough to satisfy your craving for action, and the homage to Boston is evident in every frame.

This film grabs you by the ears, and won't let you go until it's over.

Please go see this movie.

I don't think the torpedoes brought in photos to the boss. The story line is the two grifters rip off the organization but at the local level they are found out. The report comes in about the rip off and orders are given to have them taken care of ASAP. The local boys are to handle it or the specialists get involved but the boss and higher ups rely on that and don't need to know.

We should probably move this to the "unpopular opinions about movies" thread...
I can see your point, but while I was watching it, I just couldn't suspend disbelief enough to swallow that line of reasoning.

about an antisocial (with good reason) female computer hacker who joins forces with an investigative journalist to solve a young girl's disappearance from 40 years before. Well made and follows the book pretty well, given the time limits.

A much delayed response. Murders in the Rue Morgue with Bela Lugosi was a good film, though it didn’t have much to do with the original Poe story. It took great liberties with it, and only used some characters and small plot elements. Bela was creepy in it!

I really enjoyed it, too, though the book was more in-depth. I did hear, however, that the second Swedish installment, The Girl Who Played with Fire, isn't nearly as good as Dragon Tattoo.

Regardless, the books are AMAZING.

"An Affair to Remember"

I read the book and loved it - the movie was very enjoyable - Juliette Binoche was great and Johnny Depp's Irish accent wasn't the worst I had heard.

I also LOVED all of the clothes JB wore in the movie!

Love An Affair to Remember too - the little village where Cary Grant's mother lived is where I got married - it pretty much looks the same as it did in the movie!

Five Graves to Cairo

Right now I am watching Five Graves to Cairo, made in 1943 and directed by Billy Wilder, his second movie. It's about a British soldier spying on Rommel, as played by Erich von Stronheim. I've never seen it so I'll let you know how I liked it. It's playing on TCM.
