Sadly, we're not getting a Dredd sequel. They didn't market it properly in the US, and the film bombed. Shame, because I thought it was great.

Am hoping they see strong rentals and DVD sales to possibly rethink it.
They didn't market it at all really. Dumb.

I watched Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter. Loved the book, but I give the movie a b minus...it took the storyline too seriously

The biggest difference between the book and the movie is that the movie had a "boss" vampire, i.e. a single "big bad guy" villain for Lincoln to ultimately face off with, with almost all of the other vampires working under him. As such, it was more of a vampire movie with moments from Lincoln's life in it, where the book was Lincoln's life with vampires in it occasionally, and I thought the book found a much better balance between the two; interesting, since the book's author wrote the movie's screenplay.

The other main problem, for me and a number of people I've spoken with, was the movie's lead actor Benjamin Walker. Not because of his performance, but because of his appearance--you're meant to see him on screen and think "Abraham Lincoln", but I kept thinking "Liam Neeson", which I found distracting. And then there's the poorly executed CGI.

On it's own merits, I thought the movie was okay but not great; compared to the book (one of the best I've read in years), it was pure rubbish.

"The Happy Years" - B - Wild Bill Wellman directs this heartwarming farce about a turn of the PREVIOUS Century "bad boy" sent to a prep school with one last chance before reform school. During his travails he learns about life, loyalty, sacrifice and above all honor. I got totally sucked in. You could do a LOT worse on a Thursday afternoon.

George Washington Zombie Killer is a better movie.

Just saw "Planes" funny and a lot of interesting backgrounds , have to see it more than once to catch all the sight gags and jokes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We stumbled upon it on a dvd movie preview and then thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I had no idea it had even been released anywhere. Bummed to hear that for the time being there is no sequel planned.

Just watching DOWN THREE DARK STREETS on Netflix. A pretty decent police-procedural with a touch of noir. Lots of great shots of early 1950's LA.

This looks interesting...I will have to watch it sometime.

2nd viewing is even funnier.
Later, Plan 9 From Outer Space. Yes it's the Rifftrax version but honestly it doesn't need their comments to be funny. This from an Ed Wood fan. Well not really a fan, but as one of the few that has his box set.
