Yeah. Those were pretty good.

I still have them on VHS, so I may have to dig them out as there were only two on YouTube that I could find, and there are five in all. Why they haven't released them on DVD is strange to me, especially considering they're based on Elmore Leonard's character.

I admit, I had a huge crush on Alex McArthur and that was probably the main reason I watched it. lol

Some Like it Hot on TCM. Marilyn's dress is pretty risque if you ask me. Always a good flick. A little later on today, The Apartment is on TCM as well. It wasn't until I got much older that I realized how much I liked Jack Lemmon. The cinematography really is a plus for both movies.

The Artist. Things have been kind of hectic and my wife and I have been wanting to see it for awhile. Well we finally got to watch it last night. That was a great movie. It would have only been better if we could have watched it in one of the old movie houses that are still around.

"The Cardinal" - Good film about an Irish Catholic American priest and his growth and development between the World Wars. Knowing what I know about the Church's true history during WWII I find the movie a little less compelling and I won't even mention what else outside the realm of politics was being committed. As a film Premminger does good work. Had he been able the get Peck or some other "A-list" actor other than Tom Tryon the film might've been spectacular. Certainly no "Going My Way" in terms of content. Worth watching in glorious Technocolor.

Watched all of "The Falcon in San Francisco" with Tom Conway. From 1945, Good Old Tom and "Goldy" Locke get mixed up in a mystery with a beautiful gal... this time the gal is a 10 year old kid; a change from the ordinary situation.

Edward Brophy is Goldy - I have always got a bang out of Brophy.

Watched part of "Laura" intend to finish that before heading off to bed. Can't picture Laura Hunt marrying that cad Shelby Carpenter. Couldn't sleep well not knowing if they go through with the wedding. Of course there is a murder to catch, too

Laura is one of my absolute favorite films of all time.

Watching Thunder Road with Bob Mitchum.
Great movie, especially the chase scenes.
Although Keely Smith's singing isn't too bad either.

Between Two Worlds (1944).
Really neat movie about people on a cruise liner, that are headed to their final destination.
Almost copied (at least the idea) by Rod Serling in his Twilight Zone episode Passage On The Lady Anne.

Convicted (Columbia, 1950), with Glenn Ford, Broaderick Crawford, and Dorothy Malone. Ford goes to prison for accidentally killing a man who was harassing a B-Girl. Crawford is the DA who reluctantly sends him up the river, and then, after becoming the warden of the prison Ford is at, tries to get him paroled. Good performances, especially by Millard Mitchell as a con whose main desire is to take out the guard responsible for sending him back to the joint. Malone supplies the improbable love interest (she's the warden's daughter!), but overall the film is a good showcase for an excellent cast.

"Goodbye Mr. Chips" - 1939 - This is one of my "stop and drop" movies. Donat's incrediblly nuanced performance when combined with Greer Garson's stunning beauty and empathy... makes this one of the greatest movies ever made. I've NEVER seen an actor "aged" so gracefully and convincingly with make-up before or since. Aging a person believeably on film is difficult, they RARELY get it right in G.M.C. the work is simply the best I've ever seen. God how I love this movie.
