Not as good as the original.

I watched it earlier on AMC. Just finished watching Prometheus. I liked it.
:D

I liked it too, I think people were expecting a literal prequel to Alien rather than something more oblique, and got annoyed by it. I watched the DVD extras last week, but they didn't really help fill in the plot holes. They sequel is on the way, so hopefully that may elucidate some more.

The sequel is not supposed to be out until 2014 at the earliest and I eagerly await it. Ridley Scott has stated that it is not so much a prequel as it is a stand alone story of its own which will branch off further from the Alien movie and its sequels. I did not find the story to be too slow as a number have stated or anymore predictable than most of what is out.

"D'Jango Unchained" - I went the other night, it's a real mash up of a movie. I really enjoyed pieces of it/portions of it. I felt there were times it lagged and times it went by too quickly. There are some chilling scenes in here, particularly involving runaway slaves. I don't know if White Americans and Black Americans can view the film and ever see it the same. At least not Americans of MY generation. Jamie Foxx was in fine shape for this physically but not the best acting job he's ever done. Samuel L. Jackson all but steels the movie with his "Uncle Ben from Hell" routine. All in all it was an entertaining film about 20 minutes too long. Hell of a film to have open on Christmas day I can tell you. I give it a B-minus over all.

I thought Fassbender was brilliant as the ship's android. I will say, though, every time I watch the end, I keep screaming at Charlize Theron to take a sharp left turn instead of belting on in straight line. I'm looking forward to the next one though, and I suspect the complaints about it being slow are evidence of how people nowadays lack the patience to let a film tell its story in its own time. Can't imagine how the Godfather would fare if it came out now.

So the only miracle (whether you live on 34th street or not) is if they show the original on a tv, inside the remake.

You could adjust the colors to the original b&w.
Although I have the movies in the original b&w format,
I enjoy watching these to imagine what color the clothes
or cars looked like.
I recently saw "The Good ,The Bad, & The Ugly" ( Clint Eastwood ) .
There were scenes that I never saw before when I first saw it in
the 60s.
Also , Bogart's "The Big Sleep"…there's a dvd which includes the
1945 ( less known version ) & the 1946 version . In b&w ! :eusa_clap

The added scenes tell the story better. Especially the part about Tuco. :p

"The Good,The Bad, & The Ugly ".
This movie saved my butt somehow !

It's 1966 , I'm stationed in Castle AFB.
I missed the first showing of this movie.
Went to 2nd showing @ base theater.
Late when I got out
I overslept when I got back to the barracks !
I missed my flight @ 3:30 am
My plane & crew went down, no survivors.
I never wrote home to my folks about it.
I figured , why have them worry anymore ,
then they had too, especially my Mom.
True story.

Hey, whatever works. :p
Clint likes to hear stories like that. Too bad there isn't an easy way to send it off to him. :p
