"Captain America - Civil War" - I love how Marvel, unlike D.C., is able to weave drama and small bits of comedy seamlessly so as to make 2 plus hour action films fly by. Monster cast handled with aplomb. The ONLY thing I didn't like was their handling of Spiderman... Stark was right, he should've been named "Spiderboy". He was just a tad pimply faced for me, but all in all it was a small quibble. I also enjoy how they include so much from the entire Marvel universe. I really enjoyed it and the introduction of the Black Panther was particularly well done. A-minus all round.

Jupiter Ascending. What a mess! I've been a defender of some of the Wachowskis' less popular films - Speed Racer, Cloud Atlas - but this was awful. Interesting production design, endless action, and constant special effects can't disguise that this is WAY sub-Dune (and sub-Star Wars Prequels) space opera bushwa.

Deadpool. Actually, I was expecting a lot more R-rated stuff. I've definitely seen worse in that department! But I laughed and laughed. A great movie.

Yay! Glad to read this! I have to agree with you on the Spiderman thing - definitely Spiderboy. He was SO young, but I think that's how the comics originally had him.

I love the moral questions this movie posed - and I always end up on Captain America's side which is probably no surprise. :D

"Palm Trees in the Snow" - Took a flyer on this one last night on the Flix. Wow, beautifully filmed love story set amidst the final years of Spain's colonial occupation of Isobel island off the African coast. Spanish with subtitles this film is epic, I mean "Gone With The Wind" epic except far more plausible and interesting in its depictions of love, loss and the cost of it all. It's not perfect, they could've shaved 30 minutes of scenery but all in all I enjoyed it.
