What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

Strangely, on Thanksgiving, they were. Later, I watched part of The Godfather I. Didn't stick around for the third one. And I agree, it isn't bad. I've watched them many times and always am amazed at how well they are done.
:D
I had seen The Godfather a number of times through the years, but only when it aired on television. I liked it well enough, but never quite saw what all the fuss was about. Then, when Francis Ford Coppola restored the three movies for release on DVD and Blu-Ray in 2008, they held special screenings at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood, California. A good friend asked if I wanted to go, and I thought, "Yeah, sure, I've never seen it on the big screen." Maybe because it was in a theater where I could immerse myself in the movie without the distractions that often accompany viewing a movie at home, that time it clicked and The Godfather became one of my favorite movies.

I watched Everest, I was lost, too many actors, all snow covered bearded men... must be very convenient to replace them with stuntmen :D

I've viewed all the God Father movies many times. For me, I must admit that there is something addictive about them. When clicking through TV channels and happen upon a Godfather re-run, I'm still usually hooked for the duration. o_O

Yesterday, "Idiot's Delight" a 1939 Clark Gable and Norma Shearer movie where he's a vaudeville guy who meets a down-and-out Shearer in the '20s and they have a brief romance / affair before going their own ways. Fast forward about 20 years and they meet again in a ski resort on the Swiss border at the outbreak of WWII. He is now a more successful song and dance man while she's re-invented herself as an exotic Russia ex-pat who is living with a shady, wealthy arms dealer. The catch is that upon meeting again, Gable thinks it's her, but isn't sure; she denies it is her. This is one of those movies that starts out good, not great and then all but falls apart in the last third where I only stayed with it to see what happened, but I wasn't really enjoying it. Woven in are some philosophical talking points about war, peace, humanity, duty, etc. - all very of the moment to the late '30s, but they are inconsistently handled and felt forced. What you are left with is a boy meets girl, boy gets girl, boy loses girl and, then, 20 years later, boy meets girl again and tries to get her again - story. It's the 20 years later part that doesn't really work.
