What to wear with a fedora as a woman?

hi everyone,

I'm not sure whether there are any other women on this forum but if there are I guess this question would primarily be aimed at them, although I'm glad about any advice. So the basic question is how a fedora is ideally combined with clothing and accessories.
Obviously it wouldn't exactly go well with a dress or something like it, but what would you suggest? And what accessories do you think work well with a fedora? I have recently been introduced to pearl jewelry, when my friend showed me a pearl website called mesenso (might be down at the moment) and find it quite adoring. I can imagine that they would match perfectly with a fedora, provided that the colors also match. What do you guys think of pearls, especially as accentuating accessory for a fedora? Would love to hear your thoughts :)

Fiona, am I correct in the assumption that you are talking about modern "stingy brim" Fedoras and a modern-day wardrobe to go with? Or are you asking this within a specific "vintage context"?

A fitted suit would be the best option to wear a fedora for a classic vintage look, in my opinion. Whether the suit be with slacks or a skirt is up to you. Now, if you are wearing the fedora with a modern look, Id think anything goes.

As far as accessories, that's up to you. Pearls are surly an option as are flowers, and other brooches.

Stick with the tailored or the "adventure" look. The sharp lines of the fedora can look out of place with overtly feminine frocks.

There are vintage ladies' type fedoras that go very well with tailored dresses.

Thanks for the replies!
Fastuni: Yes, I'm talking more about modern day wardrobe, and what to wear with a fedora, and on which occasions, as I imagine that wearing a fedora as a woman automatically draws attention to yourself. So I guess it's not something you wear to work ;) Thanks for the thread link btw! I also like RBH's first picture, it has a certain Indiana Jones touch ;)

My mother used to be a member of the Red Hat Society (I really wish they had something like that for men!). She had a purplish/maroon fedora she wore to those meetings and had a large black boa feather sticking out of the hatband for accent. I know that may sound garrish (I wish I could lay my hands on the photo of it to post here) but it really looked cool.
