Dawn today (Monday, 12 March) came as colorful and welcome as a present under the tree. I legged it out the door to chase the boys to school, grabbing the goat Eastman A-2 (house brand) and zipping it over a long-sleeve T-shirt. Walking back, with the temperature nudging 65 Fahrenheit, I eased the zip's slider down a ways and worked up a happy little sweat.

Aero A-2 'beach weather!'

Just loving the great 'beach weather' we are currently getting up on the Scottish Borders!!

Pic of me on the local 7 mile stretch of golden sands and dunes!!!

(I know, it's a bit 'posed' but was for J.Chapmans' flight jacket CD).[huh]

It's been all over the place lately. Rainy, warm, cool, blustery, clear...unpredictable.

I find the horse A-2 a little stifling if it's above 55°, the goat ANJ-2 wearable up to 65° or so (tho I wouldn't grab it leaving the house unless it was cooler yet.) I have a poplin A-2 ripoff which is nicer for sunny days.

Thinking about scoring one of those cheap Indys with no knitting, which might be more comfy yet in the spring breezes off the river.

Too hot for IRVIN...

and even too hot for the ol' A2.
So it had to be the RAF BD....felt nice, flat out in the deckchair.

Must be because I'm descended from a long line of farmers, the reason I pay so much attention to the weather. A wedge of cold air hissed its way into the Southland early this morning (5 April). Dawn came at 40 degrees Fahrenheit, more or less.
Hustling the kids out the door, yapping at them to hurry, I grabbed the HH US Authentic. It's as heavy as my conscience on a Sunday morning, and a lot more comfortable.

With the cold front mentioned above, it is bonus weather for wearing a flight jacket here in South Florida. Temps in the 50's in the morning and later in the evening. I may wear an A-2 tonight when I go for a walk. Crazy weather.

Same here in North Carolina...unseasonably cool weather the last few days. Overnight lows dipped into the 30s one night, and the highs in the daytime have been in the high 50s and mid 60s this week.

Pretty good A2 weather, especially in the evenings. Summer and its unrelenting heat and humidity are coming...okay for most outdoor activities except wearing an A2.

Its too warm to wear an A2 in the UK at present, apart from early mornings and evenings. I am currently wearing my ELC Cable.

Cool wet and rainy.

Hi All:

Well my budget won't accept the prices quoted for those really nice A2's, but I needed one anyway,

So I got a brown lighter weight (real) cowhide from INDIA thru Blair.com for about $110.

Of course it is not 100% accurate, it is not using cloned WWII era animals for the hide nor have they rebuilt the factory that makes the original zippers, or resurected the original craftsmen from the dead, but it's a resonable facsimile thereof for my needs.

It came with a two side full page quality check list with the matching parameter fields filled in and it was signed off as passed their inspection which I thought was kinda neat that they took some time to really look it over befroe sending it out. It seems pretty well made with good attention to detail. It fits my 2XL frame and remains comfortable,

I have worn it twice so far while we are having either cool or rainy weather here in Southern California as the weather fronts move thru our area. So it is just starting to break in. With the lighter weight cowhide it is softer and lighter than many, it should break in quickly. Also since So Cal is a warm place the lighter weight will make it more usable, my heavy and too warm jackets don't get alot of use like my light weight ones

I hope to get some pictures later.

Best regards.
