I also have a niece who is named Jennifer, though I doubt my brother was hip enough to name her after the Donovan song.

There is a line in the song C.C. Ryder that goes "Jenny take a ride, now."

If there are any other references to a Jennifer or Jenny I can't recall at present.

Jennifer's older sister is named Michele and she was born in 1967. Guess how she got her name?

Marizpan what is your first name? Maybe we can find a song with at least your name in it.

Marzipan -- I did recall a movie called Red Sonja, and there are a couple of songs on the net that have the name "Red Sonia" (not Sonja) in them. I have never heard the songs, but the lyrics can be Googled.

I am assuming that Sonja and Sonia are pronounced alike. Perhaps they are not.

A group called Crackers has a song called "Red Sonia"

A group called The Ladies has a song called "Black Caesar/Red Sonia"

Neither of the songs have romantic, upbeat lyrics.

I did find a song called "Sonja" that Lyle Lovett sings, have never heard it, either.

I am a Karol with a K and there are two wonderful classic rock songs called Carol, but nothing with a K.

I'll give you a hint....

"Some people call me a space cowboy. Some people call me the gangster of love. Some people call me..."

I have been tormented by this connection ever since I was little.

ugh, i ONLY use my given name on legal documents and it has two songs associated with it (that I am aware of), both implying that girls with my name are fast and loose with their, um, kisses ;)

The most recent - A Simon and Garfunkel ditty that made my young life a living H E double toothpicks from 5th grade (when it was released in 1970) through high school (and no, someone has never taken his place when he got up to wash his face, sheesh!) and the other a older song that my uncle sang to me about my mother knowing if I was out or not.

Now you guess what my name is :)

Unfortunately the name Brandon isn't ideal for rhyming.

Brandon- Camden (NJ)
Brandon- Plankton (even slant rhymes are lame)

Unless someone puts music to "Brandon bo Bandon, Fee Fi Fo Fandon...etc." I doubt I'll get a song.

Inky -- your name is Cecilia (sp?) and I remember both songs. The first one came out when I was in grade school and did imply a naughtiness, at least for the time:

Does your mother know you're out,
Cecilia
Does she know that I'm about
to steal ya.

I don't even recall the rest, but was a big hit back then.

Well done, karol! I am indeed Cecilia :)

Who'd have thought such a fairly uncommon name would have not one, but two songs. I guess we Cecilia's make an impression, hahaha.

have a great day!

Inky -- I think the name Cecilia has a pretty, musical ring to it, which may be one of the things that inspire songwriters. Besides, of course, the "bad girl" angle.

We could be named after some really bad girls: Jezebel, was a Frankie Laine hit song back in the early 50's, and there was a song in the mid-50's called Delilah. And those afore-mentioned "Lola" songs were pretty naughty, even if one of the Lolas was not actually a woman.

My name is Mitzy Gale, so no songs at all!!
For Katie (which is my daughter's name) Taj Mahal used to sing a song called Katie at the Garden Gate and on the flip side of the record was Wish I could shimmy like my sister Kate.

My little eva, eva, eva; I'll never leave her, leave her, leave her...

My Little Eva by Lowenwirth and Cohan sung by Frank Reade.

I just got the record today but there's so much "static" that it's hard to hear everything. That and it's pretty old. If anybody knows all of the lyrics or have a more clearer recording, please let me know.

"My little Eva, Eva, Eva
I'll never leave her, leave her, leave her.
Working hard in a factory,
she's more than all the world should see."
All I can really pick out. :(
