Maybe it's just the big size. I hadn't been on eBay for a while until last week, and I noticed that just in general, the pickins are kinda slim, hat-wise.

I'm not sure but maybe this hat is from Canada .I'll have to do some further research . It does look like a cool hat!!

vintage hats in general are going up in price as the popularity of them increases. Even at that price it's still a steal considering what a new one costs.

My guess on the price paid is that it appears to be older than the average 50s-60s hats you see on ebay, it's an unusual color (looks dark green), and the brim looks wider than you typically see. Also, the 7 3/8 is kind of an unusual size for something that (apparently) old.

They are a bigger community than we. The fedora Lounge is still very small. You can go to several events a year that have over a thousand people in attendance who are into vintage though getting them to log in is another story. They will come.
