This is a picture of my grandfather taken in the 20's I think. They lived in LA and spent a lot of time hunting and fishing in the Sierra Nevadas. I love this picture, I've always been curious what kind of boots he is wearing.

Someone more knowledgeable may weigh in, but they look like a pair of tall packer boots to me. Popular in the 30s at least.

You can get whatever kind you want Custom : www.nicksboots.com , but White's , and Adam's make some , too . You could check youtube , Wranglestar did a review , he loved them all , but by the time he got Nick's and had them a year , no comparison , Nick's won hands down . Handmade . I know I have some custom Western Boots , no comparison to factory made , and they last 20 years or more , just get them resoled when they need it (send them back and let them do it) , if the Vamp wears out , have a new Vamp made and rebuild them . They keep your lasts (the thing they build the boot on) , just call if you want a new Pair . You get what you pay for , and over the long haul Custom are less expensive , and much more comfortable .

Nice Boots though . Classics
@Delawareguy Cool Picture !
