What a jacket! Love it. Can you please share some images of the back and the center lining? Or as many as you can? I have never seen this HD before.
Hey friend, looks based on HD 50’s Cycle champ. More pics here - very nice indeed.

Here is the only other picture I have at the moment. I can take more this weekend:

Pretty sure mine is the Rough Wear Elvis version. I think @jeo chimed in on my jacket before, but I can't find the thread at the moment.

This is the 3rd version Cycle Champ made between 1954-1956. These were made by Blatt.

I remember your jacket when it was listed for sale. One of the cleaner Cycle Champs I’ve seen.

This is the fourth version Cycle Champ made between 1956-1957/8. This is the “Elvis” model. I initially thought these were Rough Wear based on the label but I discovered Fried Osterman used this label. Throws a wrench in the whole Rough Wear being the only maker of the classic Sears Hercules half belt but that’s a discussion for the other thread.

I love the jacket. It is so very nice! By looking at your images, I came to the conclusion that your jacket does not have TWO side pockets, as I thought it did. At any rate, your jacket is wonderful and looking forward to your upcoming images. I am a big fan of HD jackets. I do not own your model jacket, so I am interested to compare it to my other D pocket HDs. I also believe there were 5 cycle champs made in the 50s. 4 with a D pocket and one without, produced late in 1958.

Recently picked up this vintage jade-green “Ike” style jacket. Not sure what brand it is, but it’s likely another Reeds. I noticed that it’s as close as I can get to DiCaprio’s jacket in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood even though his was brown.
When I found it, it was super dry and wrinkled, and the buttons were hanging by a thread, but I restored it as best as I could. The back panel lining is pretty billowy and peeks out from under the hem when I wear it though, and I haven’t been able to fix that.
Still, easily one of my favorite vintage finds lately

Thanks for confirming. Funny enough, I'd just seen this info on your IG

The D-pocket zipper is on a more vertical angle vs 3rd version.
Interestingly your D-pocket (left) looks somewhat wider than @TheOldFashioned's (right). Using the chest pocket as a reference.

Old fashioned variation lol

The biggest difference to me between 3rd and 4th gen is the D pocket shape.

3rd gen is more rounded and as you said the D pocket zipper is on more of an angle whereas the 4th gen looks more like an actual “D”.

I think the 3rd gen is a much more beautiful shape.

And they’re both size 38 too. I think it’s partially because he has his hand in the pocket and it’s collapsing the leather on the top of that D pocket. It’d be interesting to see this jacket laid flat and see if it is in fact old fashioned variation.

Here are my two Elvis models and the D pocket shapes do look a tad different.

Btw, for each generation Cycle Champ there seems to also be different lining variations as well.

The first gen Cycle Champ had one variation in the design (that’s the Jason Mamoa version) and then the later first gens had a slightly different design and like 4 different linings.

Here is my view on this two different jacket. There are four details that I can point out. Apart from the hardware, the zipper is longer on the pocket to the right.
