Love your ironheart hickory shirt, I forgot i had one.Shirt jacket today. 50°! In March!
I would size up with the Lewis if I was you, feel free to make me an offer i can't refuse Tom..you know I love a cross zip. Here´s me doing one of my favourite things: Trying to figure out what is the perfect Cross-Zip (for me personally).
My contestants are the Perfecto 613SH and the Lightning 402.
Both have more or less perfect construction, heavy horsehide and patterns that leave the last 3% to be desired in terms of movability. Looks are great on both, although I do prefer the slightly "cleaner" features of the LL.
The heavy belt-buckle of the Schott is quite unnerving when the jacket is open, as it flops around all the time and is solid enough to cause harm to delicate objects (car door, coffee mug, hand of wife). I would be happy about a snap button there (yeah, I know, "Floating buckle" and all...).
Both hides are super shiny and appear very hefty and luxurious. In the case of the LL that´s luck, I guess, as my batch actually ages and has shed that vinyl-like unfiformity.
As a prosaic issue, prices are in the same ballpark after LL raises theirs. The Schott would be a bit less but for the taxes/customs to get it to my door.
The LL is size 42, and I could probably size up one. Now that I lost my excess pounds, I feel like I don´t strictly need to anymore. The Schott is 44, and I sure couldn´t size down as the pattern is pretty restrictive. Might try a 618HH for comparison of pattern some day.
As for Icon-factor, the LL has wearers like Lemmy & Fast Eddie, Slash, Iggy and many more going for them. Schott claims all the fame, but - hmm, you know about that. The Ramones DID all wear Perfectos and The Boss as well (although clearly not on the cover of THAT album). Brando clearly is a point in favour of LL...

Just scored this Simmons Bilt S&S collab they call the Two lane brown top from the classifieds. Very nice pattern with good mobility and very substantial leather.
