No idea in re water repellant. Having owned many original N-1's these are quite good repros and great for the price. They are slightly lighter weight material than the real deal or BR, RMC or others high enders. I actually prefer this as the jacket looks/drapes (on me) a little less bulky than its "supposed" to be. Just a bit.

Favorite CHP jacket. Not sure of the actual brand or its age. I reached out to Langlitz asking, and they said it might be Block Bilt.

Nice jacket. If you post some detailed pics of the jacket and ask for ID, I am sure TFL experts will ID it. They are amazing.
Not a bad idea. Here are more. Figured it was Cal Leather, but wasn't sure with the half-sewn epaulets. And appears there was a vertical white tag removed from the liner pocket. Thanks in advance.

I had a cal like that, with epaulettes. Also had an u usual chest zip.
The tag shape might indicate it carried a resellers label rather than the Cal label.

The old Belstaffs were pure gold! Tempi passati... I still hold on to a "Panther" and a "Gangster", both in the same "Vintage Black" cowhide.
I absolutely love the Panther, I've contempted buying a goldtop patrol,,that's the closest I can get to old school belstaff quality. Do I need one, absolutely not,but still want one :)

I don't know much about Cals, but I don't think it is a Block Bilt jacket.

I had a steerhide one by Block Bilt, photos here: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/rare-block-bilt-1940s-chp-police-jacket.110722/

The teardrop Talon zip suggests 60s/70s, I think?
