Plainsman in black jerky HH. Upsides are that this is a pliable leather and easy to wear. Possible downside is that the topcoat wears down much more quickly than any other type of leather I've handled (see cuff edge). I think it will look great after a year or so, but I wonder if the topcoat is going to disappear from the larger panels, too. It seems to wear down to a reddish colour or an orange-ish base; the leather is a russet kind of colour underneath the black topcoat. I particularly like the Plainsman - it's very much a go-to jacket and (if I had to choose again), I'd definitely get it in black Vicenza, but we'll see how it wears

I got brown contrast stitching as per advice to help the undertones come through. It's a new jacket, but it's going to get worn on a daily basis until I see some wear and tear. I'm quite careful with my russet Badalassi Work Coat: I should try to wear it more often, but it is, ironically given its name, the smartest jacket I have.

The shoulder seam wear is just from carrying a canvas bag around - it really does wear down quickly.
