What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I can’t do the 70’s rockstar look. I’m too bald. Instead I opt for the 70’s team USA gymnast or Ty Webb from Caddyshack.

^^ You and I both know what the past week has been like. Instant sweat, outdoors, and it's just so nice to even want to be outside again! :)

Plainsman in black jerky HH. I wasn't sure about the initial 'sponginess' of the hide in the first few weeks, but it's gone away. The jacket at the moment has a really good drape and the topcoat is not wearing off too quickly and the hand is now more robust and 'flatter'.

The rubbery feel of the hide initially bothered me, as it felt too soft, but I'm now definitely a convert. It now feels lighter and tougher, somewhat like Vicenza but less stiff. The areas of wear are dark reddish, although it's worth mentioning that this only seems to happen at edges - I doubt I'll end up looking like I'm wearing Cajun salmon. I'll post pictures of how it develops.

The Blackened brown Vicenza café racer came out for a brief downpour. This is a size 44 (I size up from 40 to 42 for this style, but I went for a 44 on this one as I can put a hoodie under it). I need the weather to cool off so that I can run about in the hills wearing it and knock the newness out of it (and calm the shoulders down). Café Racer sizing never quite worked for me - I suspect that, as an oblong b*stard, I am simply the wrong shape for the style. I care not, though, and wear them anyway. I've found that even the boxier styles flatten down and drape ok after heavy wearing (and/or heavy drinking while wearing).

I now see why some of y'all love wool half belts so much. This mid 40s Sportclad is perfect. Interesting that it doesn't actually have a front drop. My leather Sportclad is similar but this one is more noticeably shorter in the front. I actually kind of like it.

Huge thanks to @tmitchell59 for this beauty
