Best spoke fit. When cal's are a good fit, there are very few jackets that can even compete with mobility and protection.
So good. So far wears very easily considering how robust it is. At least in part due to being well broken in

It is used in great condition. I asked about it and apparently it was made in 2001 as a sample and sat at Vanson until 2005 when it was presumably sold and found it’s way to me in 2023.
It figures. That is the quality hide that made Vanson stand out from the rest of its competition. The dark brown is going to age so very nice. Good for you. The jacket had YOU in mind.

Amazing jacket and you cant get a better fit than this
Thanks!

Superb outfit head to toe, but man, that Himel is the bee‘s knees! What a color!
Thank you, yes the color is quit something. As the jacket loses its shine, I'm liking the color more and more.

Is this a more recent acquisitio, or did I just forget?
Had this one since May of 2001, but it was a remake. Long story. The whole saga is documented in 2-3 prior threads if you care to look it up.

How would you compare the pattern of the Frobisher to the „Imperial“?
They are very similar in some ways and very different in others.

The biggest difference is that there is much better mobility with the Frobisher.

Both hang nicely from the shoulders. Armholes are cut similarly on both where you get leather folded over itself in the back of the shoulders for mobility, although the Frobisher achieves this much better IMO. The Imperial has bigger sleeves overall which affects the silhouette. Both sit flat on the back but more so on the Frobisher. Both have a nice front drop. Both flare out a bit at the hips, although it's more pronounced on the Frobisher and the Frobisher also has more of this shape )( through the body when viewed from the front. From the back they both create a very nice V shape.

Overall IMO Frobisher pattern > Imperial pattern.

Ah, thanks, so I just forgot.

(or chose to forget, as some Himel-threads have the somewhat nasty tendency to turn from, "Here´s an observation" into, "How dare this man do this and that for this outrageous prices".).

Both jackets look absolutely killer on you!

Thanks you also for your thought on pattern. I do love my Imperial (in fact so much that I bought a second one in black from a fellow lounger), but despite the fit being very good, it´s quite a struggle wearing it zipped up for too long as it´s quite binding.

The fit is great on the Imperial no doubt, just not best for mobility (yours look killer too btw!)

So this Freenote Cloth Waxed Rider's jacket has taken over my collection in a major way. Pretty surprising to me as I rarely have been a button-up jacket guy. This is very different than a Filson un-lined waxed cotton, this jacket is lined, slimmer of fit, also made in USA and very comfortable to wear with nearly anything. I plan to give it a proper review here but would like to do it with a comparison to the Filson. Not very good weather for outdoor photos at this time.

Many more details here: https://freenotecloth.com/collectio...iders-jacket-waxed-canvas-black-grey-interior
