Inspired by the contrasting red of my bike, i plan to get a leather cross bag in light brown that i will re paint into crimson red in the same way i did my black jacket, would be useful to be worn on my bicyle ride in the late afternoon when wearing all navy blue clothes like this.

For that money you can get a way nicer A-2. Even for the style that back is way blousy and doesn't flatter you.

I would not. 5 Star makes better looking A-2's than that at 1/4 the cost. The fit is wrong and the faux distressing, silly patches look cheap IMO. There's a reason that jacket is on sale. I'd have a hard time paying $30 for it tbh.

Have a look at the various A-2‘s that Eastman or The Real McCoys sell.

They have patched-up versions (also the ‚AVG Flying Tigers’ that RL is obviously nodding at). They would be way more appealing to me, but ultimately it’s a question of personal taste.

Man, Ivan, you’re giving me a tough nut to crack here. Ok, let’s see:

1. In terms of wearability, I’d give a 7/10. It’s short, and it’s heavy, and the lower back is forever inflexible due to the kidneyy panel that seems to have an inlay made from steel.
On the other hand, range of motion is very good, and weight-distribution is such that you don’t feel the weight at all once you wear it.

2. Leather is 3/10. It’s Competition Weight from ca. 2016, and there’s really little justification how plasticky it is.
The jacket is fully broken in, worn hard over many years with topcoat flaking off here and there, so there won’t be any more evolution.

In short: had I not bought via Thiurston-Bros. I would question if it’s really leather at all.

That said, I know that there are huge Comp Weight fans here, so there MUST be really superb batches around…

3. Butch-Factor is obviously 12/10. This jacket gets noticed, and it gets me comments. It’s the quintessential fun-jacket.

Hope that helps. I’ve just re-discovered the Chopper for me after some time of neglect, and it does fill a spot otherwise vacant.

Now that I have it back it is obvious to me that the Lee Trevor is the same fit... slightly lighter than CW and 'good'.

I am waiting on the rock & roll. Always happens when you mention something before it has arrived. It get's delayed in transit.. one of those 'laws'

Look up Eastman... for that style.
