Just home from a very long and sun drenched vacation in my favorite place on earth, Union Pier MI. Thanks to @nick123, I have this unbelievably nice Aero (modified) original Herc in blk/brown vic. What a jacket!!! Serious heft, beautiful grain…I could not have drawn up a better fit if I tried. I am over the moon. All the mods are exactly as I’d want them. This is an exit piece. There’s little left for me to get after. Aero has really out done themselves on this and my wool jacket. The repro vs original see saw balance has tipped yet again.
I have attempted to recreate @jonesy86 epic catalog photo below. LOL. I actually might need a legit fedora. Oh the humanity.

Dude as much as I’ve praised CXL over the years, I can safely say this is my absolute favorite leather from Aero thus far. Rigid but not unyielding, nice grain and just the right amount of heft. You’re going to be incredibly happy and I think this hide is the perfect choice for the rockafella’s design. Look forward to seeing it!

Original 80-year old Willis & Geiger M-422a on the left, Lost Worlds G-1 on the right. LW has the best goatskin I’ve ever seen. Their G-1 repro is top notch!
After seeing the movie trailer for “Devotion”, the upcoming Korean War/Naval aviation drama (actors all sporting G-1 jackets), I’m getting very anxious to break out the leather flight jacket!

That is a nice jacket. Does any one who is the current jacket maker for RL?
AFAIK Polo RL, Black label and RRL are now made in China except for limited collaborations like the RRL Schott a few years ago. I have no idea who the maker is for the Purple label though. Perhaps the Purple Label leather is still made in Italy or at least I hope they still do.

Simple idea, post pics of the jacket you are wearing today, hence 'What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?'
This thread may have legs, it may fizzle, either way I am sitting here waiting for my wife & loving my Aero Goat modified half belt.
Have fun people!

This arrived the other day (well, in fact I had to pick it up at UPS’s local distribution hub after a truly gruelling customer service experience with them).

Ship John/Langlitz Wills in Rough Out Cow. Ordered a little over a year ago.
I was very worried about sizing, as I want this one for autumn/winter as a layering piece. Works out well. Pictured here with a rather chunky Dehen Racing Sweater.

This jacket is HEAVY! So far I only had a denim shirt from SJ. These things are not cheap, but they are extremely well made, and the design somehow ticks a box with me.

Slightly hysterical smile due to the fact that the temperature has finally dropped to a level where it was possible to put this on for a few minutes.

How could you not smile while wearing such a beautiful jacket. I love the color!
