What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I have never seen such a pristine Cal. before.

I don’t think I have either. These CRs are tough to find in any condition. This one was basically listed as vintage black leather jacket. Found it during a marathon ebay scroll check.

Your jacket is on my ALL TIME FAVORITE LIST. You know I have one very similar. I have only seen one before from a forum member. His did not have a label, however. The friends at Cal. actually authenticated mine after they view it. Sadly, it does not fit me anymore. This was my daily wearer when I was in high school.

I was wearing a jacket, not anymore... panting, drenching in sweat and misery right now.

a jeans repairman called I can collect my hoodies I left there to install a double zip on last thursday, I thought bicycle ride would be nice to collect it. so I put on my double knee jeans, boots, type3 jacket, canvas backpack, and my cap, and out pedaling 11.30 noon sunny weather with steady incline all the way, and heavy traffic. going home was a breeze, but as soon as I parked my bike and drop my backpack, sweat starts pouring out on every pore.

The Cal is so good I sold the Harley CR, which was cool. I just reach for this one. Unfortunately, this one doesn’t have a label. Though not having one allowed me to buy it for less than what they go for. The seller did not know it was a Cal. Not a lot less, he obviously knew it was a nice jacket. I’ve only owned two Cals with labels.

Both look great! I knew the Sportclad would work! Now, what about the Californian!??
I just sent the Californian to Dena for new lining, pocket pouches, 5/8 inch longer sleeves from the leather folded under the existing sleeves, new buttons, cleaning and conditioning. Tried to get her to take it in but she said no way she would mess with the chest and shoulders, that she could take in the waist but from the fit pics I sent she said it didn't need it.

That's an awesome jacket, looks like you've been on a vintage bender lately. As compared to the Sportclad and Monarch you recently scored, this one looks a bit wide on your upper back though.

How does your new Thedi like the Hawaiian beaches?
I got so many jackets around the same time I had 3 older ones that were in storage in California delivered recently as well. I'm still trying to sort out what I have and what I think of them. The Thedi likes the beach.

The Californian is definitely too big in the shoulders and chest. 25"pit to Pit is huge for me, and 20" shoulders is big for me as well but it gives a little needed length in the sleeves. I am going to wear it anyway, and I just sent it to Dena to get a new liner, pocket pouches, another 5/8th of an inch longer sleeves, new buttons on the sleeves, and cleaning and conditioning. It's a keeper.

The Monarch is such a beauty and fits so well I can't believe it, man I love those French seams, and the one piece collar as someone pointed out is very nice. The leather is quite soft, and has some nice grain and patina. the lining is immaculate, and the lengthened sleeves are perfect. Its a lot of jacket for this climate, but in reality they all are, so what the heck.

The Sportclad is light, fits really well, and is way cool. I may put in new elastic in the sides someday to cinch it in a little. But it is probably now my favorite.

And then the new to me GW Black Hercules is not too shabby either. It is longer and has more French seems. Whats not to like.
