Got up this morning in need of a good ride! 58 degrees down here in Tennessee so put on the Aero HB Deluxe and rode up into the mountains and down through some valleys enjoying the crisp fall weather! A few shots at Fall Creek Falls State Park near Spencer TN.

Just arrived! ELMC Cali. Great jacket. Trim fit. Reminds me very much of vic but a bit stiffer, which seems odd as it’s quite light. Overall very well executed Halfbelt. The construction is quite good. Perfect for this time of year. Probably best with a t shirt. The sleeves are very trim, arm holes are cut high. It does feel very vintage, so…I’ll allow it. LOL. It’s a beauty! Another great daily driver.

It looks awesome. I love it. I'm interested in your thoughts on how this elmc compares to Aero's halfbelt. I remember you weren't much of a fan of those highly placed handwarmer pockets:

I remain not a fan! The saving grace, if there is one is the hide itself. If this jacket were brown, I would not have bought it. I think the lighter weight hide and black color spare the position of the pockets. They absolutely should be lower. That said, overall, it’s a stunning piece. Construction is superb, hide and hardware is outstanding. To me this is almost indiscernible from an Aero jacket in the “right” batch of vic. It very much reminds me of the speedy Dustbowl I had in the spring, but this one fits. Size wise the 40” Aero DB and the 44” ELMC are actually fairly close.

I like the overall look of the elmc much better. It's more refined. Much closer to the allure of an actual vintage hb. The elmc collar wins hands down imo.

I agree 100%. The hardware on the ELMC is a little nicer too. Seems more genuine. Zinc oxide or whatever dull silver it is. Both extremely well executed. But I too would give a slight nudge to the ELMC. Now if I put against a premier 30’s HB in black brown vic? That’s a cage match.

I can't tell you how many times I've come close to buying one of these. My .02, I think it's the best looking jacket from the front. Everything just perfect. Every time I see one, I start contemplating again and start the Ebay searches. I'm just not a fan of the back. I like something more simple and flat if that makes sense LOL. Might have to add this "look" to my list of possible FL projects. Copy everything from the front and simplify the back.

In any case, congrats. Epic fit.

Yes a simple, plain back would be better. There is no elastic in the action back, so there’s no action and no need for it.

I bought lunch from a street vendor near the jacket workshop, so i walked in to try again.
The front belt loop need to be made longer since it doesnt fit 2x thickness of the belt ( i use vegtan 4mm belt).

I didnt ask for forward rotation for the sleeve on this since I want more creases along the front of the sleeve.

can not wait to spray some water on it to shape. those collar and lapel would look and behave a lot better after wet shaped.

I feel strange seeing you in a more regular jacket! Looks nice.

Temps are going down! I'm finally wearing the jacket inside the house during the evenings. Not time to wear outside yet. Shaped the collar a bit with cold water. It's goatskin but I'm sure that getting it wet (careful because if you rubit it, it can always lose colour on to your hands or stuff)

Johnson Leather “Cascade” style to have an easy wear after several days of work with my Type III.

I'm more comfortable with it open than expected, at first I thought I would only wear it zipped because it’s sorta floppy with the midsection. @tmitchell59 thank you for showing so many different ways to wear a crosszip it really opened my eyes.
