Conners Sewing Factory WWII Type I jacket, Monsivais hat
Keep this haircut, it should go well with FWs, esp. with SM, kind of wild badass looking!)

What i figured would happen just happened-- the male insert/pin on the tiny zip on my Aero Chips just popped off. It was sitting in the slider. Gonna try Great Leather. These zips are a joke. You have to baby them, put them on little satin pillows and tell them they are great. Weak little things they are.
Just waiting for that to happen on my chips. I have been wearing on the bike a lot. Not sure if I should wait until it happens or fix now. My upcoming johnson chp will have a fat 10 ykk center zip

I would wait, but it will happen. I don’t even ride with this jacket, never trusted the zip. It came apart as I was simply unzipping to take the jacket off.

Wow. i will just hope it doesnt happen on a trip where i really need the jacket.

That’s true. I just figured since you have been riding in the jacket without failure you can continue to push your luck. Lol. I wore other jackets to not push my luck. In the end it didn’t matter.

Less than one year, much less.

Shouldn't there be a warranty? Anything bought in the EU should be covered by a two year warranty.
I don't think that still applies if something is sold to the US, but you could try, i would like to know if Aero stands behind their products even if they don't legaly have to.
It would also be good to have people complain about the zippers they use not always being fit for purpouse, maybe if they get a bunch of warranty claims they might change their stance on only using no5 zippers...

I got a nice three day trip planned with the biker fam in august. Prlly too hot for leather but if i need it and it fails ill be securing it with a bungie lol.

@Carlos840 i dont know if they would cover shipping. I am sure they would agree to replace with another number 5. Prlly cheaper, quicker, better overall in the US to send to dena or johnson leather and put a heavier zip on

I had a zipper fail on my bootlegger. Aero covered the shipping to have it replaced (I’m in Europe though) with another number 5.

I think they look great and work great on their mid weight leathers. For CXL, I really can’t understand why they don’t use more muscular zippers. Plenty of horror stories about failed zippers on Aero jackets.

@Carlos840 i thought about it but figured that they would just replace it with another #5. Reading other posts, that seems to be the case. I did push back and asked for a larger zip, multiple times, but kept being told the #5 is the only way to go.

I spoke with Great Leather, the jacket already is in the mail. Pricing is excellent, Dena responded quickly and folks here stand by her work. I’m in. I may do a two-way zip while I’m at it.
