I was happy in the cold, rain and wind until about 23. Then I moved to Asia and stayed there for a long time. On returning to the UK for a year in my mid-thirties, I realised that I could no longer stand the cold. Jacket weather is anything below 23C for me. Much below 13C and it's layering, and anything below 5C and I am really cold. I am comfortable at 28C to about 30C, but I can stroll about in 36C as long as I'm wearing a cap and have a bit of water. I remember my first Shanghai winter being a real shock to the system after years in Guangzhou/HK heat (even the winters there I found cold). It is strange how you can get used to things so that even minor variations in temperature can feel much colder or hotter. I'm even fairly happy in a jacket in humid rain. I far prefer hotter weather now- so much so that it influences where I choose to live and work.

That is very true. Humans adapt to temperatures in which they dwell. When Floridians or Californians complain that 50F in NYC feels "freezing", it is real, not just talk.

I've been to Cikarang, Jakarta, Bali and a couple of other states but I am one of the weird Asians in that I was born in a hot country but I love the cold.

Even during a tech dive I was only in a 3mm wetsuit and a 1.5mm vest w hood. It was 13 degree at 60m and I loved it lol.

On land 13 degrees, will find me in a sweater and jeans.
Anything above 24 degrees and I start to sweat like a pig.

There's no way I can wear a jacket in this weather.

cikarang sounds like industrial district, jakarta, and the tourist area of bali are both hot places.
I think it is also normal for people who are born in hot country to like the cold, and vice versa
I used to sweat easier when I was 10kilos heavier and eating more meat, with weight loss and less carnivorous diet, and forcing to adapt to local temp by not turning on airconditioner at home I run a lot cooler now. my jackets are all having very simple lining, and eyelets to let air circulates too

Does anybody know where I can find original or copies of the 1970s rocker style jacket? Big collar, multiple panels, donned by Lou Reed and gangsters as such. The so called “fight club” button front coat can be easily found, but I want something like this. (I know japan’s electric studio make them but forget it).

I know your familiar with bk, how is your jacket coming along from them? Reg there is a few jackets on there vintage selection that resembles the 70s style.
They have a huge selection of cool vintage jackets to choose from. I am disappointed in bks leather options. The victory appears to be amazing problem is its not available an i would not pay that crazy upcharge. Imho they have the biggest reproduction selection available

Always wanted one of these.. Aero had a similar hide 10 years back too. I managed to snatch up a 50s HB in that once but unfortunately that one didn't fit.. great leather!

It's Non Stock Flyer (I think the tag said Bronson- can't remember). I wasn't going to go all-out on a 90 pound shirt, so I was really happy with this one. Guy on Ebay was helpful and recommended sizing up, which worked.

Thanks! It's definitely at least 4oz+ (could be 5oz) as the leather is soo thick but it doesn't require break-in and is easy and comfy to wear from day 1 even if it is really heavy. The leather itself is so unique - many scratches from the wilderness and not for lovers of uniform leather structure.

Suede trucker from Etsy arrived. Metal buttons should arrive this week. Once I get these God awful things replaced I think this is a pretty cool jacket. The tag makes me wonder if it’s the same maker that made all those HH jackets in the 50’s. The Californian had an ignominious end as a suede trucker? Works for me. I’ll have at least 5 of these in my closet before summer starts.
