I won't go out into an enclosed public place with circulated air say supermarket before my respirator comes, the other day I still met people without a mask the cashier lady didn't wear mask too, although she has a plastic screen divider on face height, most people has ran out of their disposable mask and now wearing washable cotton mask I know won't work, I can smell my coffee through it

You're still better off with the mask than nothing. If you can buy a Korean sun visor (whole face) and use the cotton mask underneath it, you've got impromptu protection.

Not here. I went for a bicycle ride yesterday and so many people out and not distancing when other people are near or go by.

I feel safer cycling in rush hour traffic with distracted drivers than I did on that cycle path yesterday. Kids, dogs and people everywhere. Control your litter of kids please. WTF!!!

People simply don't have a clue.

^^
They are endangering themselves, others, heroic doctors and nurses, and the economy. WTF, do we really need a martial law for these knuckleheads to understand? I am staying home.

This image describes these people best.

Damn this looks really nice! Any info or more pictures on it?
Here is an artsy pic I have on hand. Jacket is from @tmitchell59
Zipper would indicate Pre-war (WW2)
Just a horsehide tag no maker label.
I like that it has no chest pocket, gives it a clean vibe. I also like cuff straps and will have them on my forthcoming Sheeley Built jacket.

Yeah better than nothing, but really cotton mask from shirt or pillowcase material like the one i wear wont do much, if you have short stubbles you see even your stubbles go through it. And it is absorbing humidity from wet warm air we exhale and soon the whole mask feel damp, i imagine semi wet cloth mask would be very easy to catch any particle in the air to linger on it as we inhale through it, and wet fabric become more pliable so evertime we inhale the wet soiled fabrics would flap toward our nostrils and mouth. Probably if the cloth is more hydrophobic like cotton duck or goretex, it might function slightly better, i have suede protectant spray to make the fabrics more hydrophobic, but im not sure if its safe to breathe through it seems poisonous.

What you are trying to achieve is preventing droplets getting into the nose and throat and also the eyes. Layers here would be important- anything that shields the eyes will also help.
