I kinda like the way Stuart put it on his web page;

Iron Heart 21oz super black type III arrived. I love it. Should have bought one years ago. While it’s probably the most boring to look at (all the details vanish in pure black) the cut (lengths especially) and material make it an instant favorite. Sorry for the crappy pics but I have to paint the living room of what’s fast becoming the Overlook Hotel today and won’t have time for better ones until the weekend.

Who said, you can’t break in a LW...? Leather development after just a few weeks of normal use (one decent rainshower).

Man, I love that jacket! LW is all, you guys promised. Just wish it was a bit heavier (this is 3,5oz), but there will be a next time for sure...

It is. While it’s a bit snug to put much under the xxxl becomes wildly too long.

Seriously though, Stuart’s heavyweight Hh is awesome stuff and I am very happy with both of my LW’s. My Ryder is a couple weeks behind yours and has yet to experience a true rain storm but I think the light weight horsehide is grainier and shows more character right away.

I told Stuart "go full heavy" and he did, 4.5+oz! Breaking it in as i type this, it is night and day compared to my 3.5oz J-24.
I wouldn't say i like it more or less, it is different.
Saying that, after wearing the 4.5 for a couple hours going back down to 3.5 feels weird, like you are putting on a thin mall jacket... Not sure i would order a second one that thick though, i think 4.0 might be the sweet spot for me.
