I can’t tell you much about this jacket brand, but I can say it looks spectacular! Enjoy it. Any design on the reverse worth noting?

Good thing I’m typing because I’m basically speechless.
I received this Vanson CR today off the bay. Lone bidder. $98+10. Listed as vintage VGC. There was some speculation on the “how many new..” thread that it would date to the early nineties or earlier based on the Talon zipper. What ever era it is from, they got the sleeves right then. Many current Vanson have bodybuilder bicep sleeves. These are snug but not so much as to limit mobility.

It is, in short, amazing. THICK hide. Soft as a 5 yr old grass cutting sweatshirt. Wear marks and patina in all of the right places. Not a stich popped. The grain on the leather looks like the oldest, meanest elephant on the savanna. The only odor is the satisfying aroma of enduring cool. I shall not mention the fit as I don’t wish to well up with tears of happiness. Bless you previous owner. I hope it was nominal weight gain from a life well enjoyed that has forced you to pass this on. Rest easy. I’ve got it from here.

Great looking jacket. Your review is interesting, because I believe I read somewhere that the older white-label Vansons were made from leather inferior to their more recent jackets.

Not familiar with “white label”. I’m certainly far from an aficianado but this is exactly how I want a bike jacket to look and feel.

This had my chuckling, well done on both the stellar jacket and the stellar review.

Five Star Leathers russet goatskin M-422a with the Gordon & Ferguson label (the left pocket is slightly wider than the right as per G&F originals). The red lining they’ve used is cotton, not rayon or sateen.
While certainly not 100% accurate, it’s very well made and has the overall look and feel of a WWII M-422a. The russet goat is very thick and substantial yet soft and easy to wear right out of the box. Beautiful grain and the stitching is done with a light khaki thread for contrast. I also had them add an inside wallet pocket. A great value for the money.
