My wife and I did a 9-mile walking tour of historic Manhattan sites that focused on links with the RMS TITANIC such as where the NYC Marconi wireless station was located, the site of old St. Vincent hospital where survivors were taken and the 6-story red-brick building that was formerly the Seaman’s center (now the Jane hotel) where ship’s crew were housed after returning aboard the RMS CARPATHIA. On this sunny 73 degree day my wife was in shorts and t-shirt while I was in a G-8 :cool:

A long time ago, I used to be an oil truck driver. Christmas and summer vacations, when I was in undergraduate school, I drove a fuel delivery truck for a local distributorship. The jacket I wore in those days is long gone...it’d be too small for me, anyhow...but I recreated it, here. This is a Red Cap uniform jacket I found on eBay. It’s the same style and color and as the one I was given in 1974. I added an old Esso patch (actually, mine sported an Exxon patch), and had my name embroidered on the right chest. It’s a comfortable, lightweight jacket, perfect for spring weather. And I think it looks kinda cool. :)

It does look cool. I remember Esso.

If anyone is interested and gets to visit NYC, the most tangible remnant of RMS TITANIC is pier 54 where the Cunard & White Star Lines ships would dock back in the 1920’s and ‘30’s. The wrought iron facade is still there and if you look closely you can still read the ghost outline of the words “Cunard” and “White Star Lines”.

@Fonzie Beautiful Jacket! What color fur collar is on that jacket?

Thanks mate, the collar is mid-brown mouton according to Aero’s specification of the jacket.
It’s a beautiful shade of light brown with golden and even green undertones.
When it was new, it looked like the reflections of oil on water on direct sunlight, I’ve never seen anything like it.
Really something different.
