As I heave said repeatedly, I am new to social media. I am still trying to figure out how many jackets i bought last night. Gotta get that brethelizer up to speed, someone could make a petty penny. Or, maybe some kind of TFL, ebay etc. cooling off period.

How you define the lightweight? How many lbs of this jacket?
Here is my suburban, little over 6 lbs, I think it is 4oz

Well, I have a heavy horse Speed Demon (russet), along with a light horse Speed Demon (black), and Stu's "lighter horse" is definitely that...I think he said the Roadmaster was 3.25 oz horse...I think his heavy hh is between 3.5 & 4.0 oz. When you order a jacket from him, you can request the lighter hh. My goatskin LW Raider jacket is heavier than the hh Roadmaster.

Hh121 - I picked the the lighter hh for the "Roadmaster" jacket, so I can wear it all year around, since I live in Florida. Btw, that's a kickass Suburban. I've often thought of ordering one myself - but I'm torn between that & Stu's vintage patrol jackets.

Sure 19.5 shoulder, p too p23, waist don't know, sleeve 24
Keep in mind lw jacket varies even in same size same jacket.
I learned that long time ago.

Wearing my brand new ELMC horsehide G-1 that just arrived this afternoon.

As usual my photo skills are lacking on both sides of the camera, this picture simply does not convey how wonderful the Eastman horsehide looks up close. I think the jacket has been subjected to a very light aging process because it shows some light burnishing at the seams and high spots.
I have been on the lookout for this jacket for almost a year now, pretty much ever since they sold out of my size at ELMC. I know that some would call it heresy to make a G-1 out of horsehide but I think it was a brilliant idea. The horsehide will show wear and patina in a way that goatskin does not. My new favorite.

Got to say, much as I admire and respect the workmanship and sheer bullet-proof-ness of Lost Worlds, I can't see myself ever investing in them. My tastes are much more towards the mid-weight leathers. I've got two heavy leather jackets already and LW just seem to place a premium on having to thole the breaking in of them in way that I can't be bothered. I'm sure Stu will be heartbroken...

Each weight of leather has it's place. For most casual wear a lighter jacket is more comfortable. When riding in the cold or out in the rain I like the thick, non flappy, water proof, heavy horse leather that LW uses. LW's goat is also pretty flexible and decently light. It is actually more supple than the goat G-1 I had from Bill Kelso.

I get a bit paranoid sharing personal info. on social media, as this is my first venture into that world. But, here goes. It's kinda funny how I get the exact opposite at work. Most of my students, and even the Admin. think I 'm a total A#shole. I pantomime the old school hard a#s Chef, like Hells Kitchen. People watch all these cooking shows with famous Chefs, and think it is going to be a walk in the park. I try to give them a bit of reality.
Speaking of sharing work life on this forum, what the heck happened to @Superfluous ? Somebody talking smack, bad mouthing his writing style, sharing his professional life with his personal life. What the H#ll?
@Superfluous, if you are reading this, which I bet you are, I have learned so much from you about this obsession. I also really like your writing style! The only thing tha pi#ses me off about you is the you can afford to buy all that really cool stuff. But, I think that is my problem, not yours.
If I could afford to, I would have at least 2 orders in with JC, and buy 2 or 3 or those rediculsly priced but beautiful Japanese jackets wile I was waiting.

Black to Jackets. I got a strange idea to treat my "Blondy" last night and hand rubbed brown shoe polish, and Pecards into it in order to smooth out the splotches from the black Frankenjacket project that came off my hands and smudged it. Then I realized it wold probably leach onto everything, so I scrubbed it down with isopropyl alcohol, this morning. Didn't seem to have too bad an affect.

@Edward thanks for the link to Amazon's leather products. I have a Pecards leather Dressing on the way.

And thinking about trying something called leather honey.

Anybody ever heard of this? Amazon is hard selling it.

Anyway, Happy New Year to one and all. My New Year's resolution is to buy more jackets that I cannot afford.

I've used Leather Honey Conditioner (not the cleaner) and have had no bad experiences. But like any conditioner, a little goes a long way.
