It is cold here in Seoul.
Out for a stroll.
I had trouble deciding which jacket I should wear, so I decided to wear'em both.
Aero 59'er highwayman inside & Langlitz flight jacket outside.
Now I look like a Michelin tire mascot.

Those are two cool jackets. Have you posted pics of either of them?

Could you bend your arms while wearing them both? I will sometimes wear a bigger and looser jacket or coat over my leather jacket, when it's cold, but I've never worn another leather jacket over it. It's cool, and made me smile to see you doing it!

How is the mood in Seoul - is it tense and somber, or just business as usual with that crazy guy up north making noise?

Thanks, Bob

Thank you, Bob.
Sure, I can bend my arms. Both 59'er and Langlitz flight jacket have very pliable leather. (Smooth Cowhide)
I have posted my Aero 59'er HWM here in the lounge when I first got it.
This is the first time I tried wearing a leather over a leather and it's not bad at all. & A thin layer of air between two jackets keeps my body quite warm.

About the Noth Korean Nuclear crisis, it depends on how much information you have.
I believe it is a calm before the storm and others don't really seem to care much.
To understand the status quo and predict what's about to happen next, it is crucial that you understand the complicated dynamics behind the curtain that involves US, China, Japan, North Korea, Russia and South Korea.

To simply put :
China(leader), North Korea, Russia : Team Red
South Korea : ignorable but very close to Team Red (don't really play many roles)
US(leader), Japan : Team freedom

even simpler :
US v.s. China

I honestly believe the situation is dismal and the current leadership of South Korea isn't helping.
There have been many accusations that president Moon of the South Korea is an extreme liberal who advocates North Korea even at the cost of national interest.
US-South Korea relationship is worse than ever and the fact that South Korea is going far-left (in every socioeconomic aspect) is constantly pissing off Washington.
This can be clearly seen in the recent decision to re-negotiate the US-South Korea FTA(free trade agreement).
Some even joke that current cabinet is in cahoots with China-NK ally.
I sincerely hope they are wrong...

I wish that President Trump does a preemptive strike on the North Korea. It seems that it's the only way that can end the lunacy of Kim dynasty that lasted 3 generations once and for all.
I sincerely hope my fellow Korean people will understand that the freedom is not free and sometimes we have to shed blood to keep what we cherish.

Thanks for reading my overly long comment.

I respect everyone's right to express their world view, and discuss politics. I certainly have my own beliefs, and enjoy discussing geo-politics economics, religion, and more. sometimes tabu subjects. I also think that it is important for folks to pay attention to these serious issues. It is especially important for everyone from different perspectives to talk to each other. It is difficult these days to find sources of information that are reliable on the internet.

I enjoyed Atticus Finch's brief summary of the state of the world when his MA-1 left the assembly line at Alpha Industries. Often we are dealing with clothing that was certainly related to very difficult times of war, and world suffering and violence. I enjoy studying history, as well as current events.

Having said all that, this thread is about "What Jacket Are You Wearing Today" Don't know the rules on this forum. Perhaps we could have a discussion on another thread. I am glad that you shared your perspective.

Peace!

PS

Any decent jacket or vintage leather goods to be found from the Korean peninsula? :)
Thank you, Bob.

Thank you for your opinion Jonesy.
Like you mentioned, I understand that this thread focuses on 'daily jacket'.
I suppose members may find what I said little awkward or uncomfortable. (I should have thought about this before I wrote that.)
Perhaps we should stop debating on this matter right now and carry on someplace else. (Maybe a new thread?)

+ Korean High-end leather brands are hard to come by.
I heard that there were skilled artisans back in 1960s but I guess they're retired now.
I believe you should be looking into Japanese brands. (Not all Japanese leather jackets are over $2000)
My recommendations are : Addict clothes / High large leathers / Sunset Bay leathers
Check out their instagram as well (more detailed photos)

I actually don't see much in the way of politics being discussed in this thread. The forum rules are that they won't be either.

I understand.

Sorry that I got carried away.

I shouldn't have brought up international politics here in this thread.

Maybe the manager will edit my reply? (I tried but edit box disappeared!)

Again, I apologize.

Hey its a strange world. I understand the desire to express opinions. I'm new to forums, and social media. In fact this is my first and only foot print in that world. So, Im sure I have violated the ettiequte myself. No harm no foul.

Thanks for the links to Japanese products that you don't have to max your credit card on. While I would like to buy the best of the best, my landlord wouldn't like it if I didn't pay the rent. :)

Peace!

I just noticed mainly your view of issues going on in that part of the world ( which I considered interesting )..rather than much of a political slant. I do advise against starting a thread discussing anything very political, though, since politics are banned on this forum.

Duly noted.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hey High-Maintemance

I just checked out one of your suggested links to Japanese products, Addict Clothing. Could quite figure out the pricing , tu their collection is impressive. One jaciet the I saw particularly caught my eye.

yet, another picture of a couple of sweeties. One, a tough guy with a bad ass leather jacket. But he's not fooling anyone, he's a soft hearted tough guy. :)
