What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Messages

I completely get your, I wished I could get back to days where I hadn't thought about what I'm wearing. That's why I try to keep it simple with the one leather jacket. But now I'm thinking about the second one... stupid kid.

All my friends who have known me back then are disappointed in me now. They say, man it was so cool how you didn't give a damn about clothes. Or appearance in general. Apparently, a lot of people would comment on how shit I'd dress and I'd just lol at the fact that the rags people wrap themselves into play any factor in their lives...
And now I'm one of them.

I was hoping to be wearing my new jacket at some stage today but apparently Australian customs like it too much and have decided to hang on to it and admire it for a while longer [emoji22]

Maybe they are looking at hitting you with the GST? As of the 1st of this month everything no matter what the cost( previous threshold was 1k) should be hit with the tax going forward now as it comes into the country how this works in the real world who knows, past experience some carriers it just goes through no questions asked, DHL and the like charge a admin fee to collect the GST and won't release your item until you pay it, those companies will be rorting the system for sure $50-70 admin fee is robbery, invoice with the item indicates it's worth $100 DHL in theory need to collect the GST from you and will hit you with their admin fee for the privilege.

The Flat Head. Pretty sure its because I'm going to get stung by import duties and tax :(
Can they do that on a pre owned item!?!! That's bullshit! I can see it on something new...just seems wrong on a pre owned item. I guess I've been really lucky with customs here. Or the workers just don't care that much.

Yes in theory all inbound goods are hit with the GST how it works in the real work time will tell, if you google the new tax it's loosely called the "Harvey Norman" tax partly thanks to Gerry and his lobbying the government introduced this to protect his business and others from overseas sellers , even EBay fees are effected now ( eBay explain if as the Netflix tax) so if I sell a used jacket I believe I get slugged with eBay,PayPal and GST now kills eBay for me , Gerry can go kiss my arse won't make me buy his over priced crap so he can go buy more race horses

I think you're doing well, man!
One last thing on other people's thoughts. I think it's good that we have a lot of different opinions here on the lounge, even on stitch-count, so everyone's taste is appreciated.
I like that fact we don't have this black and white thinking here.

Same thing happened to me. Somebody said, "Short-sleeved shirts? They're so middle-management, like the guy who endorses your check at the supermarket." I haven't worn one since. Seeing A-1's, though, maybe I'll reconsider. Funny how those little snarky comments can affect you.
I just think of this...

With the weather averaging in the 80-90s, I usually don’t wear a leather jacket.

Although I did wear this jacket in the evenings when I visited Temecula recently.
It was chilly at times and this soft jacket was light and comfortable.

It’s similar to one Johnny Depp wears briefly in “Public Enemies” as the
notorious American gangster of the ‘30s, John Dillinger.
