I had that opportunity, in the mid 1980's, when a shuttle (I believe the Enterprise) was sitting outside at Dulles Airport in DC, awaiting the opening of the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. Very, very impressive. So I echo ButteMT61... get over there are get a close-up look!

My bro and I saw shuttle launch #2 or #3 take off in FLA. It was a camp out with god knows how many people, but you're a good but away from the launch pad. It was epic. All the tanks were still painted white then. Will never forget that weekend. Also, everyone was incredibly intoxicated. Good times

One of my best memories of the shuttle was watching John Glenn go back up while sitting on a longboad at Jacksonville pier. I'll never forget that day!

(Plus the "new" from 1951 US Army Trousers. I think I've never handled such a well-made product before. My tailor said the threads were a pain because they were so sturdy. So many little details. I know all of you people probably know these kind of trousers, but for me this is like my holy grail I never knew I was looking for. Just doesn't go well with the J-21... [emoji52])
