Shameless attempt at getting some likes here haha. This past Saturday the fiancé and I arranged a photo-shoot with our two doggos; and of course it was a perfect chance to get some good shots of my jacket(s). We just got the final edits back last night. Here I went with the trusty Vietnam era all original knits and mouton G-1, the Pike Bro’s 1928 Herringbone Brown Wool Newsboy and a cordovan shaded pair of Wolverine 1,000 Milers.
The dog my fiancé is with is my boy Charlie. He’s an 11 year old Pit-Bull/Boxer that I rescued from a mill when he was about 6 months old. The little one with me, is Gretchen. We rescued her from a mill in March. She is a unicorn of a dog. She’s a 2 to 3 year old (best estimate) Blue Merle Frenchie. That kind of coloring is so rare, so rare in fact we were one of 600+ applicants. I went to H.S. with the girls who run the rescue and my fiancé has been a dog sitter for them before. It pays to have that connection when that many people are applying.

Thanks! Wearing it for these past 3 days, I’m actually a bit amazed that it’s not a more popular style around here.

It has been among my top 3 fav Aero styles for years, I just always wanted to see more pics of it in the wild. Now I'm pretty sure I'm going to get one as well. Plus it's really cool you can't get it in any other hide or mod it. That simplifies things a lot.

Yeah, the whole customization thing is a double edged sword. On one hand it’s awesome to be able to spec a jacket exactly how you want it, but it’s really hard not to second guess yourself every step of the way. Even after receiving the jacket, I find that I easily slip into the whole “maybe if I’d choosen differently it would have been even better”. Options = anxiety and doubts.

That’s why I really like buying things off of Aero’s sale page. I find that I’m generally happier with those jackets than I am with my custom orders. And the fact that there’s no wait time at all.

Also, this really highlights that Aero could improve how they present their jackets. Fit pics of actual persons wearing the jackets really makes a purchase decision a lot easier. I hope that’s included when Aero launch their new website.

Just picked up this 1950s Windward belted steerhide jacket. Unlike many others of this vintage, it still has the button-in belt. So I suppose without the belt it would be defined as a halfbelt?

It's in great shape, just a little minor discoloration at the bottom of the quilted lining. It has a light smell of oil and gasoline, which seems to fit somehow. Like a gas station attendant might have worn it.

Love the graining, the two-button cuffs, and the interior navy blue storm cuffs, which are all intact. Pockets all intact, and it also has the original size tag.

I'm not sure if I like it with or without the belt. I assume the buckle is original. If I go with the belt, where does one put it when unfastened/jacket unzipped? In the pockets as shown?

Maybe that's why so many of these belts go missing--people just took them off and tossed them in a box in the closet where they sat forgotten?
