I really love a good vintage fit. Makes me straighten my back and tuck in my shirt. Almost like a grown up
For fun I asked Shawn from Five Star Leathers to make me a version of a Buco J-100 in goat with cotton drill lining. Size S - which is a 42 - 27.5 inch back.
Shawn was easy to work with and we swapped some ideas and photos till we arrived at what I wanted. The stitching is immaculate and the whole thing is put together very well. Much better made than the Brooks cafe racers I've owned.

Is that his standard goat or the thicker one he also offers?

It's the thicker goat.
BK Dubow, think I'll give up with the mirror pics. View attachment 177299
I was on the fence about the thicker one, I think for my bomber jacket the regular goat drapes well and is very comfortable to wear it also seems bullet proof - your jacket looks good you would have to be happy with it I imagine.

Totally agree on the build quality,,but mine is still living outdoors,,,honking !!Yes, I am happy - I didn't think it would come out as well as it did. It was a punt. The thickness seems close to 3oz and goat generally is 2.5oz. It may be thick but it is not too heavy and is very soft in some spots as it breaks in. I think the real test is how it will wear over some years. I'm not crazy about the smell of the leather - it has a very strong tanning smell and I am sensitive to odours. So it's hanging outside for a couple of nights in the cold wind.
This jacket is as well made as anything I have paid four times more for.

Mine was pretty stinky when it arrived eye watering actually, hung it out on my front deck for the day luckily it was quite windy, smells completely gone now I think the way it’s shipped in a sealed plastic bag doesn’t help.
