That’s a slick looking Cal. I too consider them the best of my herd. The leather, the fit, their purpose-driven nature, and the classic (often copied) look/design of both the straight- and cross-zip Cal jackets are unbeatable.

Agreed. Cal that I have is probably the most impressive jacket I've owned. Maybe not spectacularly superior to some other brands but Cal is a level of its own. I'd dare to list it at the top of the best (jackets that I've owned) makers list. Best as in toughest, most functional, etc.

I was going to wear one today but temps here are close to 90 w/ ridiculous humidity. Back in closet it went. Riding with my Vanson vest. Still baking.

It’s beyond ridiculous that I still need a jacket in mid-May, I’m ready for sun and a t-shirt at this point. That said, it’s never a chore to sport this Iron Heart type III. I think I’ve legitimately worn it (at least in some capacity) every single day since receiving it. It’s an eternal for me.

That's the problem - it's not just nicer and more practical than leather - it's nicer and more practical than ANYTHING you may have in the wardrobe.

It’s kind of hilarious to me that this is my favorite jacket. But there is no denying it is, and regardless how many show queens come through the closet, they’ll never take the throne.

Aero x Thurston J-100 Blackened brown Vincenza.
I think that this hide is starting to be more popular and IMO it totally deserves it. It’s quite grainy and not too heavy, definitely a medium weight even compared to other black Vincenza I own which feels heavier and more sturdy.
The russet underneath doesn’t show straight away, I haven’t used this jacket a lot but I definitely think it takes longer to show than the Shinki teacore ones, from seeing what other member’s jackets do quite fast.

Overall I love everything about it.

Size 40. I’m 176cm and 70kg.

I’ve got that on my Diamond Sportwear J-100 as well, looks great once you get a little of the brown base showing through.

Brooks Gold Label Cafe Racer

I got this one around 6-8 years ago. It was in immaculate condition but now the lining is going. Will I have it replaced?

Looks like new, even the wind flap! The replacing of the lining will probably cost you more than another one but I think it’s worth it.

Cost me $300 to get the liner replaced in my Brooks here in Sydney.

I know Russian seamstress up the road from me who says she can do it. She has done some work for me before and was pretty good. I think she is charging $200 but I will check again. I might have a word to her on Tuesday.

'Similar' relining costs here in Perth WA. I did have a real good job done by Sinnika leathers in Osborne park on my 30 year Old Eastman Luftwaffe.
However now I have so many jackets , and have bought a few for not a lot more than a relining job and some for less !
Sentimental attachments may still prevail , otherwise I would not do it again

You can get the liner replaced by Brooks themselves. They offer this service also for vintage jackets, as long as it is one of theirs. It's not that expensive either. I think something around $120.

Yes, but living in Australia the postage alone there and back would cost another $120-50. But I bet they do a fantastic job.
