Sporting my fave, Schott 641hh in order to walk to the curb and check the mailbox. As a retired guy it’s the highlight of my day.

Been meaning to post a photo of this jacket. It’s a 1st Model USN deck jacket...my latest purchase from At The Front. I got it as a “Deal of the Day” and its proven to be well worth it’s price. The shell is blue jungle cloth...the interior lining is fleece...and there’s a layer of nylon in between that stops the wind. It’s warm and very wind proof...perfect for coastal North Carolina’s cold, damp winter weather. But maybe the best thing about this jacket is that it has a classic look that isn’t particularly military. Like many of the iconic flight jackets, it goes well with jeans and khakis. And that’s what old retired guys like me most often wear.

Windy day AF..??

Not today. But it sure blew holes in the ocean this past weekend. Thank goodness it stayed just above freezing. We got a lot of rain. Folks just fifty miles inland from us got a lot of that nasty white stuff.

Glad you asked! I had intended to mention this, but forgot. I’ve bought many different models of ATF jackets. 2nd Model Tanker, m-43, m-41, B-10, N-1 and 1st Model Deck Jacket. In my experience, only the M-41 runs true to size. All the rest run a size large. I wear a size 48 original G-1 and a size XL original A-2 deck jacket. I also wear a size XL original MA-1 and L-2B. This ATF deck jacket is size large and fits quite comfortably.

Yesterday actually, a Bronson B-10, thought I'd have a look at the Chinese end of the market. For the money it ain't bad, possibly a bit short but after wearing it most of yesterday I'm kinda used to it.
