Looking forward to the (hopefully gratuitous) cafe racer pics!
It will be the jacket equivalent of this:

Greetings All:
Here we go! My first cross zip a few months back. It had to go to rehab but seems to be well into recovery. Cal Leather’s i’m pretty sure. Pretty heavy to be sure. This one started it all i guess. It seems to have brought friends to the party.
I’ve been lurkin and learning from all of you. Thanks for all your posts.
Be well. Bowen

Hi, Bowen. The black Cal (?) is mind-blowing, but what's the make of that black hat on top of the brown leather? I recently had a whiskey-colored hat custom-made in something like that style and was just wondering about it. Thanks.
Greetings Bob et al:
Haven’t been able to id the maker of that hat. Still working on that. What i do know is that it is very very old and is nearly the spitting image of a Stetson,The Boss Raw Edge. Probably made about the same period. Thanks for asking.
Be well. Bowen

I’ve been wearing this jacket probably 500 days of the last 700. From 0 F (need to be moving) to 70F (can’t move around a lot) and whatever the weather.
I sold the Thedi to a fellow lounger, so this is my only leather jacket. I it’ll stay that way.

By the way, it startled me every time how amazing and calming looking at nature is:

thinking that 2 yrs ago that was a black jacket made my head hurts, Great evolution, but don't you need a second jacket now? with the rate of the fading and how you wear them constantly, soon there won't be no black left, or maybe the exposed brown would get patina from oxidation back to dark.

Yeah, back to black. Or maybe there is pink beneath the brown?

And yeah, actually I’ve always loved the oil pull HH from Aero. Seems like an easy, comfy hide that looks a lot like an old jacket from the 40s. From before I bought this one, I was interested in this leather. I don’t get it why there aren’t way more people owning jackets made of this leather.
But when I’m looking at this Buco, I always think, this can’t be beat. And I’m so happy with its evolution. And still it’s going on. I think maybe, when it‘s falling apart one day and it needs to be sent away to a jacket healer, I‘d truly be considering another jacket.
Buttoned front, two slash pockets, oil pull HH, rust knits, olive drab stitching, khaki cotton drill lining, ANJ-3 collar, an open chest pocket without a zip on the left and an inside pocket on the right in the leather facing.

With you about the oil pull, I loved the leather but it just didn't work on an A2 for me. Found it too heavy for that style, didn't feel much lighter than my HH Highwayman actually, oh and the fit was wrong, shame it had to go though.

Thanks for the info. I’ve actually tried on a twenty year-old A2 in that hide and I loved it. Well, I believe it was the oil pull. Wasn’t as heavy as the FQHH and mosdef it wasn’t the jerky HH. Which I also love by the way.

You’re right!
It’s an awesome mid weight choice that it’s quite versatile and comfortable.
Oh! and by the way, there’s a beautiful M-422a in this same leather right now in the classifieds section if anyone is interested...

(Hint: the seller is yours truly...) [emoji6]
